Why is currency not on the same level as wiz khalifa (in terms of weed rappers) at this point?

Sorry for bringing this old ass shyt up,but imo there's alot of bs in this thread.Wiz is more overall appealing and currensy is an acquired taste.Spitta s laid back,so he can get a bit boring and Wiz is more hype imo.
Spitta is not a weed rapper as well and Wiz is just that..Although andretti raps about getting high, its just because he likes weed.Hes more of a gamespitter to me,which is what appeals to me the most about him.
The most evident example of the difference between the two of them is the song no squares.
Verse 1(spitta) is about getting high, but still maintaining a stellar work ethic and not simping all through methaphores.
Verse 2 (wiz) one dimensional flossing.
Also Im pretty sure Khalifa man got put on papers only by his big homie.
That shyt was like most of his "brand" for some time.He named his album just that and put out his custom papers.I can vividly recall a song where the lyrics went like this:Im a cigarillo fiend, smoking weed like its oxygen.so you can def see an argument for "fathering of style".
Wiz has his strenghts over currensy, but there is some blatant bullshyt ITT.
Not hating, just stating my opinion,Im sure theyre both not tripping over the respective situations theyre in rn
I dont listen to then anymore tho.

Are u saying Curren$y and not smooth in the same sentence? This gotta be one of the worst takes on son music ever. lol.
His overall vibe is smooth. His flow is not smooth. I actually personally like it but im strictly talking about the flow (the way the syllable align with the beat, pockets, etc. same way DJ Quik makes smooth music overall but his flow is not smooth either. They have unorthodox flows that are an acquired taste.

Maybe smooth was not the right word. Maybe unorthodox is a better word. Whatever it is, i personally think the reason why he's not mainstream is related to his flow/delivery in some way.

He has a cool persona marketability wise. Production is dope. He has a positive vibe both inside and outside the booth. He really is spitting some dope rhymes. Has a unique style. Most people i know will always come back with that one criticism when it comes to him (flow/delivery).

One thing I'll say is my favorite project from him is Covert Coup and i feel like his flow was a little more aggressive back then which i liked more. The tempo production wise was a little faster back then. It seems like he has consciously chosen to make slower music later on which in turn influenced his delivery. So yes it sounds "smoother" later on but personally less my cup of tea. Back then sometimes it sounded like at times he was trying to fit words in awkwardly here and there (not all the times) but i personally didn't mind it cause it felt like what he was trying to spit was dope enough to justify it (basically sacrificing the flow slightly for the message).

I don't know, we may disagree on this and it's cool. Either way im rooting for spitta cause he just seems like a cool dude making dope music more often than not and constantly putting in work while still being a good dude...

Curren$y rebranded himself as a Indy artist…

It’s a blessing that he left from Young Money and built his own empire.

He has more drive than the rest of those weed carriers like Gudda

Wiz is independent now so hopefully we can get a sequel to “How Fly”. I know that Spitta needs to put This Ain’t a Mixtape on Apple Music.

Wiz has way more personality and charisma in his music. Simple as that
Everybody I know that heard of Spitta likes his music. Spitta didn’t wanna be famous. Simple as that. He’s literally rebranded himself as soon as he started to get more fame. He’s not underground cause he has to be. It’s cause he wants to be. He can literally work with anyone he wants. And any producer he wants. From Pharrell to Jermaine Dupri to Alchemist to Metro etc etc.

We completely disagree on the flow shyt I have a million examples of otherwise. Spitta just don’t wanna be famous. That’s the simple answer. Like I said everyone I know in real life who has ever heard of him likes his shyt. Most of these young nikkas in the game are fans of him. Playboi Carti used to literally be a Spitta clone. lol.
