Soooo many notable people quoted sooo many epmd lyrics this statement aint addin up

"Jus like epmd , l never trust bytch named J. to the A. to the N. E." Da lench mob

That line immediately came to mind...so much more out there u jus gotta be up on em to catch it

That's not a EMPD line that's a Lench Mob line shouting out EPMD. Doesn't really disprove my point.

I did say nikkas in the street ( meaning black people who are old enough to be around and know what was going on) not jus simply "more popular", but you got it

As good as EPMD may have been I think their Achilles heel were lyrics. None of them really have any quotable verses. Just a style other people took and ran with

I hear you.....There's just one problem with this statement.

DJ Quik and 36 mafia are worshipped on hip hop messageboards yet he was always mediocre lyrically. And Cypress Hill got a pass back in the day. and cant forget how No Limit just took over our world at one point.

and I have to disagree about quotables..u are way off....EPMD was the first rappers way before Pac or 50 Cent to stress album sales with the popular quote

"and u thought we would fold.....30 days later the LP went gold...so what u saying?"

and u cant deny the "please listen to my demo" chant...Thats still pretty popular.
