Because he's the GOAT and the most influential athlete of a generation...

And he's still living... Don't always wait to bring flowers to the dead...

Michael Wilbon is fukkin annoying with his constant talk of Jordan, let it go the nikka retired 10 years ago. He talks about the Bulls like he's some kind of real fan, when he openly admitted yesterday that he didn't really watch them during Jay Williams time.

They can't say anything without this bald fakkit bringing up something about Jordan.

Tony gave him the :wtf: when he said that.

wtf does his 50th birthday gotta do with anything sports related :what:

This nikka been retired for 10 years. His last title was 15 years ago. Why we still hearing about him? I don't care if old ass nikkas think he's the GOAT. New age nikkas don't care. I'mma 80s baby, so I don't care about what he did in the 90s.
I want us to talk about todays players not some old nikka that played 20 years ago.

Hopefully when our generation takes over places like ESPN, we won't waste our time talking about nikkas from 20 years ago.

:wtb:im a 80s baby in i watched me sum jordan, nikka u tripping they can talk about the goat all they want

Yeah, let's forget about the past like it doesn't matter. The logic of you youngins is :what: nowadays.

Michael Jordan is one of the biggest reasons that the NBA is played the way it is today and how popular it is and you act like he shouldn't be relevant anymore. And not only that, he's still active in basketball as the owner of a nba franchise.

Simply put...all the greats past n present recognize him as such. ESPN just follows suit.

I'm glad at least Ali and Jordan legacies are holding up over time. As long as we have to endure the slobbering from cacs about their sports figures doing work in black and white images, this shouldnt be an issue. I don't know if the OP is just a victim of the microwave generation or a self hating c00n...either way, let our greats from the past cook and just change the channel if you're that offended.

its an absolute nonsense that they are doing this. They did not do it for Magic, Bird, Russell, Kareem, or even Willie Mays or Ali.

Then again, ESPN doesnt have much journalistic integrity.

Its nothing against Michael Jordan, but instead the cult of personality that is around him.

like it or not ESPN would not be where it is today without MJ and vice versa. ESPN and MJ were gained prominence at the same exact time in the 90's. ESPN named him Athlete of the Century for God's sake. I still remember those Dan Patrick interviews with MJ after the Finals games. ESPN was not there for Magic/Bird/Kareem/Ali etc.

In Dallas, From Cleveland
Cause he the GOAT....

Dude is 50 years old and teens and cats in they 20s out here going crazy over the shoes he wore back in the 90's.

Also what else are they supposed to talk about right now? Its a slow sports week and I'm am very tired of hearing about the Lakers and Dwight Howard.

And at the end of the day, Jordan helped ESPN rise to greatness.

His highlights are part of what made Sportcenter so popular in the 90s, why do you think they have a week's worth material on him?

It's only right they pay homage
