Why is everyone so against DRM?

I know all of you can't actually be pirates like that.Conventional wisdom says well what is xbox live goes down... But the fact is that with 300k servers what are the odds. Its not likely that they will get hacked and be down for a month like ps3 was. So I don't get the gripes outside of piracy.

because DRM in the end only harasses paying customers. the pirates usually find a way around it. so it turns into another pointless loop paying customers have to jump through.

-play it offline or online whenever i choose
-continue playing it years later despite online servers being discontinued

theyre talking about killing a serial if you share a game too much. sign in once every hour so we can revoke your license whenever we want. thats crazy.

theres nothing wrong with drm but that there is ridiculous. all different types of softwares have drm but they are also infinitely transferrable...for the most part. steam games arent transferrable but guess what. i can play them shyts anywhere, the only restriction is one machine at a time...

Why is this so hard for you to understand. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BE CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET JUST TO PLAY GAMES I PURCHASED. I SHOULD BE ABLE TO SELL ANY GAME I SPENT MY MONEY ON. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FULL PRICE FOR A 8 YEAR OLD GAME RETAIL.

But what you're talking about, is not DRM though.
