you had plenty of scenes in the past that were on that wave

I agree. Some people do over do it.It's actually cool people are open about how they feel.
But I have a friend who uses his sadness on borderline attention whore levels.
I'm in a few group chats with him, and I have him on FB as well. there often be times where we all comforting and praising him in the groups chats and on FB.
But it be like
Damn nikka bad shyt happen to all of us too, we don't televise it and if we do its just in our group chats.
One of my group chats got tired of it
He posts something on FB, " man i can't believe that happened to me 5 months ago!" shyt gets like 30 likes and like 50 comments.
We in the group chat talking about bytches and he sees no one talking about him.
breh posts the same thing he posted on his timeline in the group chat.
One of the brehs finally called him out and revealed what we were all thinking, boy it got heated.
Breh was basically like, "bro quit posting everything on social media you have us for all that shyt and quit being sad over every litte thing and man up!"
The nikka gonna screen shot the group convo and post it on FB and spinned the narrative on how this is why people stay silent making us all look bad
We all friends again... but yeah.... i like that we are open but people just want the world to know everything
Naw...alot of ppl really don't have support systems...chances are they tried to talk to their family or friends and they were told to get over it...when u vent u release the emotions temporarily...I can't lie tho some of it is for attention...I know what depression looks like up close cuz of my dads struggles...and alot ppl ain't depressed...they just unfulfilled....
Lmao yo bes bead head ass .....I will dye yo ass up lolOl' "I still the shadows in my room" head ass.
Kinda what I was getting at. It's glorified. It's in vogue to view everything as glass half empty instead of glass half full. Weakness and vulnerability are in vogue nowadays too and I think being sad and depressed falls under that umbrella. That's not to completely brush off mental illness which is a very real thing, but some people are literally reveling in being weak. Looking at this country, there's a lot efforts to make it weak internally. Trigger warnings, micro-aggressions, safe spaces, safe rooms with coloring books and play-dough for college students, etc.. These are all real things!! Look at Terry Crews who is basking in the glory that comes with declaring himself a victim and women are rewarding him.
Whole country has gone soft.
This is a bit overblown most people are faking being happy if anything them pretentious selfies and fake deep quotes are usually a masking something else
