I stick to the gun range

stand your ground folks

Nah, it's about walking away from the situation.

I feel like every man should have hands, unless you're ok being:flabbynsick: A gun is good, but that doesn't mean don't train. Not everybody can get a gun either due to laws or they might have a background. Illinois just now passing a conceal carry law 2 years ago. Plus it keeps you in shape and stress relief:yeshrug:

I remember that video somebody posted here some years back where a group of mma cacs went to the hood to practice their moves on some nikkas and tried to get the fair one.

That shyt went left real quick and it seemed like the whole block came outta nowhere and beat they fukking ass. shyt was hilarious. nikkas were yelling, "Don't let them crackers leave"

yeah i dont and will never understand the no kicking or aversion to holds in a fight

and my base is boxing..in the past using a hold to end a fight is just as satisfying as lighting up a cat with punches he didn't see to me :manny:
The same dudes who are averse to kicking will probably stomp a dude when he’s on the ground :mjlol:

LOL@MMA gyms being filled with white nationalist. The sport was started by Brazilians and the majority of the disciplines are from Asians.

True. I blame the The Ultimate Fighter Show and the Affliction Era for MMA getting it's neckbeard Proud Boy bro image. Before TUF MMA was not very popular in North America. I was paying attention heavy since the late 90's. After TUF everybody swore they "trained UFC", then the Affliction t-shirts came out and forgetaboutit.

Even in the early days of MMA there have been talented black athletes (mostly wrestlers). Kevin Jackson was an Olympic gold medalist in wrestling and won the UFC 12 middleweight tournament. Mike Van Arsdale was another freak athlete from the early days of MMA.

I do wish more brothers took grappling seriously.

Even just the basics which keeping it a buck you can get off YouTube if you understand basic fighting movement and spacing which most of us naturally do.

I get it “real men throw from the shoulders” blah blah blah

that was true in the 80’s when most everyone also played by that rule, it ain’t that way anymore and hasn’t been for a while.

A Muay Thai plum and knee right up the middle for instance is enough to end the majority of confrontations since most people wouldn’t have a clue what you’re doing until they’ve been sent to the shadow realm. .. especially if you have long limbs. Even if blocked it’s still gonna damage. Don’t get me started on kicks.

Being tall and having great hips from years of soccer/basketball etc, why would I not use that?

knowing the basics of how to stop a takedown or how to get back to your feet can save you from being mounted and possibly choked out etc in one on one scenarios

BJJ saved me from a LOT of possible lawsuits since I was a bouncer during the “affliction/tapout/I do UFC and I’ll fukk your shyt up brah” era :snoop: where if you had any size on you or you were imposing. .. you were gonna eventually have to teach folks about weight classes :snoop:

it was relatively safer to snatch up people with simple blood chokes than to hand out 3 pieces and sodas and risk drunk people hitting their heads on the concrete

The fundamentals always work but having extra tools in your box ain’t ever a bad thing.

The amount times my training in folk wrestling styles, judo and jujutsu (Japanese) has helped me is unreal.
All one needs is to learn a jacketed folk wrestling style and a non jacketed one that emphasizes quick throws and basic ground game. That's it.
