My flight is $248 leaving out of Newark but for me to stay downtown Chicago it's $250 per night , $100 car rental per day, $70 valet per day. I'm visiting my peeps who on the Southside and don't want to stay with them. My only other option is to stay out by the airport. I haven't even calculated food and entertainment. Wtf

You could post up at a house in Riverdale for 1/2 an ounce and a used Black n Mild, but I wouldn't recommend choosing any of the valets in the neighborhood.

in chicago, there's not many hotels that are in the neighborhoods. so if you stay downtown, you will get raped on parking. and u can't do shyt about that. you stay by ohare, you gotta commute to get to the neighborhoods. and the driving commute from ohare to the southside is HELLISH to put it mildly. there's a few hotels in the neighborhoods, but some are pricey. If you stay in a hotel near midway airport, those will have parking. midway is on the south west side, so you can easily get to the south side. midway borders the suburbs, and those neighborhoods are safe. that's actually probably your best bet if you want to have rental car and get around. midway also has train and expressway access to get you downtown fairly quickly.

Cost of living here ain't cheap either breh. You don't wanna stay out south so they gone get ya downtown.

the cost of living in chicago is cheap for the most part compared to any other comparable major city in the country. try places like NYC, the bay area, boston, DC or LA, and those housing prices will blow your mind :mindblown:

I stay in those NY and LA threads trying to find out how people are affording to live there, talking about they make 40-60k and are living comfortably when the average 400sqft Co-OP(cause you cant even buy a actual friggin condo) is at least 30 minutes from Manhattan/Downtown LA and costs $250,000+
My condo here was just over 300k and has more than triple the square footage. :francis:

The original poster is paying Downtown prices when he could just get a hotel on the near southside for super super cheap and take the train. Chicago eats off ignorant tourists who can't plan well. :ld:

yeah, there's a hotel on 26th street with parking that's super close to downtown. don't think it's super pricey either.

Never ever ever stay in a hotel in downtown Chicago unless you willing to pay major money.

shyt I was born and raised in that area. They got 20 million dollar homes down the street.

That aint a place where you want to rent a hotel at. Not only that but the hotels are cracker jack boxes.

Wait, OP said he got a rental car?
WTF you got a car for if you staying downtown? The whole poit of staying downtown is not needing to drive anywhere. :mjlol:

If you have a car go get a hotel in Lansing or Alsip, and get on the expressway (either i-80 or i-57) once you wake up and you'll be wherever you want to go after driving for 10 minutes, and that includes downtown.

$250/night + valet. :camby:
