A lot of out of touch sanctimonious posts in here. You guys don’t know what the hell you’re talking about. The age differential and paradigm you grew up in makes your POV sound myopic. Young working-class brehs and brehettes are doing gig work on top of having multiple full-time jobs in order to make ends meet. Do you know how many young brehs and brehettes are racking up debt on “buy now pay later” and “cash-advance” apps just to pay for bills and groceries? Most of you are in your 40’s which is around the age of your highest earning potential keep that in mind. You have to update your frame of reference before speaking so matter-of-factly.

I think its a mix of several things. Younger ppl not having money to spend, things being more expensive, people wanting luxury because that's all they see on SM, and ppl trying ton find a compromise between all of this....

My little cousin is doing well for her age and she got into an argument with her hood rat friends because they never can go with her to FL. (Chick goes every 3 months😐). I can keep up with her but she living like her money going run out if she doesn't spend it. She talking about cutting ppl and, even some family, because she won't keep footing the bill.
That’s cray. Meet ppl where they’re at. She can just have fun with her friends doing regular stuff, and make new friends who have the ability to travel.

As you get older it’s normal to have multiple friend groups

Shiit is 3 hours away…:picard:

He asked me last weekend “Aye dog you coming?”

:comeon:
After we moved into my crib, I told my girl were not even gonna entertain the thought of having one.

:mjlol:

Plus I'm not trying to be a burden or have people half ass their gifts or bring me shyt I'm never gonna touch

when you get older it isn't a money issue, it's a health issue
gaining weight from indulging at every cookout, trip back home, work trip, bday party , beach trip, all you can eat/drink cruise
i swear i gain a few pounds every time i do a social activity
popularity is a gift and a curse 🥲
i'm pretty sure i am not going to go to a bday party this weekend just so i can stay on my discipline

Chips and soda?:russ:
You never made a run to the gas station and picked up some quick snacks and a drink to go to your homeboy’s spot to watch the game?

And finish off the bottle of Absolut from the last time y’all got together?

Then try to call some joints over… then try to make a quick run to the liquor store before they get over there because you finished the bottle? Then tell ya boy to grab some wine coolers too, just in case they don’t drink like that?

She not regular. She works in DC but lives in the bougise part of Richmond VA, so she can slum it out with her gay hoodrat friends. That's a 2hr commute. She took the job before even had solid living arrangements. Her motto is praying letting Jesus take wheel.

This generation is just lame and selfish

Never in a million years would I allow money to come between whether or not to kick it with the homies

Ain’t nothin too expensive about getting some chips and soda (or liquor for those who partake) and kick back with your peoples at they or your spot.

Nah.....the thing is these kids are finding themselves in positions where they literally can't afford it.

I remember when I graduated college, I had the hardest time getting on my feet. I was a struggling dj meanwhile my friends from college were lawyers and Wall Street guys. I couldn't afford to hang out with them either because they'd want to do shyt like spend 10K at a club.

A lot of ya’ll posting in here are older and took this as an opportunity to shyt on my generation and I can tell. :to:

It ain’t really about trying to live above your means or being able to stunt on IG. Most people are off that these days anyway, IG doesn’t really mean much to most people in my age group (mid to late 20s/early 30s) anymore. TikTok is where it’s at now for my generation and “flexing” ain’t really part of that app’s culture like it was on IG.

It mostly has to do with the fact that many of us work several jobs and are just trying to survive. “Hustle culture” is real. :damn:

I’m fortunate enough to not be in that predicament, but I know plenty of people within my age range from all types of backgrounds that are.

Most of the people I know are working 2 jobs just to survive, and these are people WITH degrees. Some are even STEM, many are not making as much starting out as they believed that they would because Nap’s people will do it for less.

People without degrees are working 2 jobs and then doing Uber or GrubHub in their spare time. Also, throw in the fact that many of us had our early adulthoods interrupted by COVID and that set many of us back financially and in our careers.

So, it’s not even about the money per se, it’s about time and energy. You got guys working 60+ hours weekly, you think they’re trying to “hang out” when they could be sleeping?

Only guys that I know who are chilling right now are in the military. Those brehs are living it up and I sometimes kick it with them. :pachaha:
Thank you. Bunch of 47 year old niqqas was waiting guns loaded.
