WTF you got a car for if you staying downtown? The whole poit of staying downtown is not needing to drive anywhere.
If you have a car go get a hotel in Lansing or Alsip, and get on the expressway (either i-80 or i-57) once you wake up and you'll be wherever you want to go after driving for 10 minutes, and that includes downtown.
$250/night + valet.
you ain't getting downtown from alsip or lansing in 10 minutes. lets be reality here. not even in the BEST traffic scenario.
that being said, he said was trying to get to the south side fairly quickly. personally, I'd stay closer to midway. not fukking with wack ass alsip or lansing.

This place is horrible! 2 hookers came to my room trying to sell me sex. There was a mouse trap under the bed. The bathroom was not clean and the toilet didnt flush. The manager did not give me my money back! I would never never ever stay here again!

This is one cut throat hotel. Its good to if you are trying to get it in right quick. But I dont think its cool to relax in. So get drunk before staying here.

I stay in those NY and LA threads trying to find out how people are affording to live there, talking about they make 40-60k and are living comfortably when the average 400sqft Co-OP(cause you cant even buy a actual friggin condo) is at least 30 minutes from Manhattan/Downtown LA and costs $250,000+
My condo here was just over 300k and has more than triple the square footage.
The original poster is paying Downtown prices when he could just get a hotel on the near southside for super super cheap and take the train. Chicago eats off ignorant tourists who can't plan well.
this reminds me of the last time we went to NYC.
we stayed in a hotel in queens not too far from the airport. they had free parking, and I had my car with me for that trip, so that was good. by staying outside of manhattan, we were able to not get raped on hotel cost.
