And dropping the same day as Kanye

The only way you're selling records today and you're not Jay-Z, Eminem, CACLEMORE, Drake* or Lil Wayne* is dropping the same day as one of them or creating singles that have an R&B SIMP nikka overtone

:mjpls:
That don't even make sense. So u saying dropping the same day as other musicians make sales increase?:what:

The fact that people are finding it easy to relate to J.Coles music is further opening up his fan base, it's exposing him to larger markets and therefore his sales are improving. I honestly don't see what people are finding in J.Coles music though, he just doesn't do it for me.

:manny: But I've always preferred that K.Cudi/Charles Hamilton sound. It's lot heavier no doubt but Cole can sometimes be narrowed down to that old cliche of being really boring.

Because he's more popular than them...the sleight of hand here is that he wasn't ever really positioned against the wales and big seans of the world in the first place, not originally anyway...that his success is thrown in the face of theirs is a lowering of expectations of sorts...in reality he was supposed to be the original "anti-drake", marketed and pushed as the "real hip hop son!" lyrical answer to Drake for mainstream rap listeners not really into "real hip hop son!" lyrical rappers and for drake-haters to rally behind (wish SOHH was still around to pull up some threads circa '09-'10)...

Drake was his primary peer and point of comparison...then Drake album dropped went platinum and he became a tier one rap star....and people was wondering why it was taking so long for Cole to drop...he finally does and goes gold...then the next month Drake drops his 2nd and goes double platinum...then Kendrick came along, goes platinum and cold took that "anti-drake" spot from him...so it's kinda funny that now instead of it being "Why isn't J. Cole selling platinum or multi-platinum like Kendrick and Drake?", he gets taken out of that conversation completely and judged against the lower tier of acts...and flips the whole thing :heh:

Im probably the biggest cole fan on here, and I agree wit this, not that I think he flopping, cause anybody wit a mind knew he was bigger than the likes of big sean and them nikkaz(I think wale should be up there to tho), but being real I think kdot push is kinda not real, shyt is like he being pushed more than his real life buzz is, and I dont think he will ever go plat again

Everybody know the truth bra, jay running that label like a real label, he not being family wit them nikkaz, he just giving them the tools and letting them work, and if they ain't ready they aint coming out, cole is like the only othere artist to drop on the label, and cole did mostly everything by himself and got where he at

Decatur where its greater
Born Sinner was a solid sophmore and def made up for his weak debut. But I'm just wondering when is Cole going to drop a classic retail album. When listening to tracks from the Truly Yours series its clear he has the capability to do so. Its just who ever is overseeing his music selection and album cuts is doing a bad job.

I mean Kenny Lofton didn't make the album. :mindblown:
Kenny Lofton AND Cole Summer :snoop:
