the 1st tape I heard from him was Friday Night Lights in 2010

I listened to the Warm Up a lil while after that

they are both classics
FNL is not a classic

and FNL is the main reason his album was a weed plate

you dont get credit for a good mixtape if you put all your albums material on it

First time I saw Cole was 09 in NC, he was opening up for Wale. Said, "this is my first show in my home state, since I been signed to Roc Nation." :rudy:

Didn't think nothing of it, then I heard joints like "Losing My Balance" and then that "I'm like the '95 Penny, you like Penny '04" line :ooh:

Me and my nikka downloaded all his shyt when we got back to the dorm. I can't fault him for hyping up the project that put him on the map.

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
The Come Up is his first. The Warm Up is what put him "On". Remember to these new generation MCs their mixtapes are considered their "classics". J. Cole's Warm Up is to him as Drake's So Far Gone is to him. The body of work that got him national acclaim and attention
Yup..altho Friday Night Lights is his best project thus far...

:blessed: @ this tape. Rap back in 09 was on some bullshyt one hit wonder phase and Cole was the light @ the end of the tunnel. His fanbase has only gotten bigger and bigger from there. :myman:
