I was a huge Kanye fan before CD came out I was hyping it, but I'll agree he's completely changed up. I agree that all his albums sound different musically but that's not my beef. My problem is his lyrics are all floss now compared to his earlier stuff, there was a nice mixture of different content. Musically MBDTF was great but dude wasn't really saying nothing. Now after that he isn't say nothing and the flow is :sadcam: status..that song with Khaled/Ross and H*A*M are the perfect examples of how he switched. He hasn't progressed if anything he has regressed. He went from making music that made him standout compared to his peers..to doing Future type hooks and verses you would get from Rozay or Wayne.

Exactly
Sounds to much like he's trying to fit in with them instead of doing his thing. Even his gay ass ad-lib. Nannnhhhhhhhhh :guilty: every time i hear him scream that shyt I'm like :guilty: :hmm:

He needs to figure it back out. I want the next Ye album to be less about ye and more about his production and the features

I wouldn't mind the project being produced by him in its entirety with features from Dom, Kendrick, Jay Elect, Action Bronson, Curren$y, Nas, Mos Def, Lupe, Jadakiss, Jay-z, Common, and John Legend

those were the days man.... gone are those days

The guy just doesn't seem anywhere near as humble in his interviews as he used to be and I don't like his arrogance or his pretentiousness any more. I thought it was a phase but it looks like it's here to stay and it's just annoying and makes him look like an a$$hole 90% of the time IMO.

LMAO Kanye has NEVER been humble. I don't understand how you can claim to have been a fan of his and not know that. And dude has always been flossy. He even has a song on his first album talking about it.

:ahh:I agree with the op that said nas "positioned" himself to b that street dude. Media ran with it and backpackers but it's the way he wanted to "position" himself. Even now, I feel nasmasir combs tries tooooooo hard to go against the grain just to separate himself from the rest. He's the goat no matter what in my opinion though.

nas isn't judged like normal human rappers like kanye west are judged. lupe fiasco is the only other rapper who kinda sorta knows what thats like. they can't do what other rappers do because people view them differently, they expect hip hop excellence, either its undeniable greatness or its wack to them. kanye didn't come in the game a hip hop savior super lyricist, he came in a soulful cornball.

Nas and Lupe are the only emcees that come to mind where they are judged on a different level than others. nikkas actually felt Blueprint 3, for example. If Nas did BP3 he would've been banned from Queensbridge.

:what:

So you're telling me Kanye used to jump out and say he was the best ever, he's the most talented and no one compared. I never said he was completely humble, I said he used to be a lot less ass-ish. Go read what I said again and :sadbron: somewhere else.

You guys need to get off the internet lol.

There are much greater expectations out of a Kanye West or Jay-Z project than anyone else in Hip Hop. That Nas and Lupe ish (two of my favorite rappers and Nas is arguably the GOAT) is only here. In the real world, Lupe was given props and earned more fans for that abomination of an album he just dropped.

How the fukk did Kanye sell out when his last album arguably is his best album? Dude reinvents himself every time he's dropping an album, his approach is that every project is his first and most important project.

:snoop: he doesn't produce his music anymore
He produced 9 of 13 tracks on his latest solo album.
The other 4 tracks were together with No ID, S1 and 1 by Bink. He uses real instruments and shyt thats why cats like Jeff Bhasker gets a co-producer credit and he gives engineers and whoever had any type of input on the beat a co-producer credit like Mike Dean.

and even WTT had a couple of deep soulful jams on there :heh:
