Why is Pimp C mentioned more than Bun B when UGK is mentioned.

Bun can really rap, but its not like Sweet Jones was a slouch either. And beyond that, Pimp had the vision, the beats, the hooks, all on lock. Look at Bun B's solo shyt... its fine, but its nowhere close to UGK material. Pimp was the brain, heart and soul of the group. Bun just jumped on there and provided some dope ass verses.

I'm a Pimp C stan, but Pimpalation wasn't all that, either. They needed each other for balance like a yin/yang symbol.

Pimp arguably dropped more jewels than any rapper of his era... you really have to go back to see that he wasn't rapping, nikka was preaching :ohlawd:

Yeah but it was just a compilation album, not a Pimp C solo...

in fact...I'm not sure we ever got a true Pimp C solo album since the first one was tinkered with by RAL, the 2nd was a compilation, 3rd was unfinished and 4th was posthumous

:wow:

Bun in his prime had the most incredible rapping style IMO, dude was just :ohlawd:
C was just too real :ohlawd:

He spoke that real shyt and was fukkin comedy :ohlawd:
On Mike Jones and Lil Flip’s jewelry: “Them big ol’ plates they be wearing that look like dinner plates? Them diamonds are monkey. You need to take that monkey sh*t back cause you embarrassing us.” On Young Jeezy: “Muthafuc**rs talking about they’ve got kilos for $17,500. B*tch, ain’t no kilos for $17,500 up there, and you know what I’m talking about. Come to Houston and get the work and pop it cause we’re right there by San Antonio and we’re going down there and gettin’ the work. And guess what, man. All y’all ni**as talking about selling dope? If y’all ni**as was some d-boys, guess what, man? I don’t believe you ni**as no more cause I’m seeing you ni**as in button up shirts getting cute and pretty trying to look sexy. Ni**a, f*ck you. Ni**a, and I ain’t gotta say your name. Play with me and I’ll expose the ni**as that was wearing backpacks with their pant leg rolled up back then in Atlanta when me and Big Meech used to be off in the club kickin’ it buying each other champagne.”

On Russell Simmons: “I just made peace with the lil ni**a Short Dawg cause on the cool, it really wasn’t his fault. It was ol’ d*ck-in-the-booty Russell Simmons fault for not taking the message back to him and telling him to change his name. Yeah, I said ‘d*ck-in-the-booty.’ I know what I’m talking about. B*tch, I’ll air you out too.”

On Ne-Yo: “I ain’t out here dressing up trying to be sexy licking my lips like old gay a** Ne-Yo. Licking lips and sh*it, ni**a. P*ssy d*ck in the booty a*s ni**a wearing all that gotda*n lip gloss at their video shoots and letting ni**as put makeup on their face. Yeah, I said Ne-Yo, you heard what the f*ck I said. Ni**as putting all that lip gloss on they f**kin’ lips looking like they’ve just been eating a pork chop sandwich with no hands.”

Simple, Pimp C is a better artist.

Bun's always been overrated in my opinion. Dude is boring as shyt :manny:

Bun has exactly 1 flow and its boring after listening to consecutive tracks. If Bun b is on a track you know exactly the same flow youre gonna get. Pimp didnt have that strict bar structure and his rhymes schemes were always original. When i got my first UGK album I was a big Bun B fan, but after listening to the album I looked forward to Pimp C's verses more and would wanna skip Buns.

He was the frontman and the mouthpiece for the group while Bun was the lyricist and the laid back one. Bun got bigger and more known when Pimp C was locked up and he held it down for UGK and C by shouting out his name on damn near every guest apperance he was making. Still think these two hadn't reached their peak yet as far as album sales. Because Bun was more known nationally and Pimp C was getting out there with all of his outrageous comments. UnderGround Kingz debuted at number one and i think they were on their way to even more success until Pimp C's untimely demise.

There were traces of Bun dumbing down his flow on Dirty Money, but it really kicked into overdrive on his solo albums.

Put it like this: Bun was the more lyrical of the two, but Pimp had more quotables, if that makes sense.

Bun B is most def the better rapper by and far but Pimp C was the more entertaining personality. That is what it comes down to. Bun B is highly intelligent and an intellectual type of cat who is/was heavy in the streets also but difference between him and Pimp is that if Pimp said fukk ya then it was fukk ya Bun would try to make things cool for both parties.

The homie who posted earlier was right. Bun probally squashed a whole lot of beefs known and unknown. Because on the real aint nobody fukking with Bun Beater Pause.

But he did have a run where he was popping up on tracks just about as much as bUSTA.

Pimp C never had the chance to release a REAL solo album before he died. Sweet James Jones was made while he was in jail and Pimpalation was just a compilation featuring a shytload of artists. If Pimp C would have dropped a real solo album before he died I have no doubt it would have been on the level of "Underground Kingz."

The production and hooks would be better than a Bun B solo, I know that. :smugfavre:
