The Takeover
Lower the rims to 7 feet and let the players who got nice asses and titties play with all the cleavage showing

He's right.
This WNBA Draft that's coming is 2003 NBA Draft status.

Houston comets shut down? :dafuk:

I don't know how much they'll help the league though. They (ESPN) try to hype up Britney Griner throwing down a dunk, but its not like she's doing dunk contest type ones that'll really draw people. When Candace Parker and Maya Moore came into the WNBA they were suppose to make a big difference for the league too?
I'd be interested to see how the league's revenue/attendance/rating have been trending over the last 5-7 years.
There are NBA teams that are bigger liabilities than any one WNBA team. WNBA squads aren't burning through 7-8 figure losses the same way some NBA teams have. Put it like this: who do you think makes Glen Taylor more money: the Lynx or the Wolves?
And no, not every owner subsidizes or co-owns a sister squad.
So far the WNBA has not been able to support itself. During the mid-2000s, the NBA spent more than $10 million per year to keep the WNBA financially solvent.[16] In 2007, teams were estimated to be losing $1.5 million to $2 million a year.[17] In 2011 it was reported that the league had its first-ever "cash flow positive" team (Connecticut Sun).[18]
Overall league attendance was about 7,950 people per game in 2011. In 2012 the league had its lowest average regular-season attendance, 7,457 fans a game, since its inception in 1997. It has not averaged more than 10,000 since 1999.[22]
I think Candace Parker and Maya Moore are both superior players but neither had the influence over young girls that Skylar Diggins has. There's a legion of people that will be watching just for her.
I don't think I've ever come across a female that has brought up the topic of women's CBB or WNBA on their own. I think Candace Parker had more of a legit following because she was known beginning in high school throughout college. She could ball, won the dunk contest, and was easy on the eyes. Most times when Skylar is brought up its from dudes, mainly because she's a pretty athlete. It seems as though woman's players are more popular and get more attention while playing in college, but once they get into the WNBA they get forgotten more.
lot of them have to go Europe in the off season to play just to make a living
the nba in the usa is a failure but if stern moved the WNBA and merged with with women's european leagues and created a global league overseas i can see it working better.
