Why is Stern always talking contracting NBA teams when he should contract the WNBA?

why do u even care if the WNBA exists or not

because it costs the NBA

that money they spend on keeping the WNBA afloat could be used to re-invest in the NBA

WNBA is a money loosing venture.......and all for what? to give some young girls a self-esteem lol gtfoh

contract the league and do it ASAP

:whoo:

This thread has been educational. I had no idea the Houston Comets folded or that Bill Lambeer's old team Detroit Shock moved to Tulsa.

They already have 6 completely folded and dead teams? :damn:

The NBA made 4.2 Billion last year, saving a few hundred dollars on the WNBA season wont mean shyt... NBA is not struggling finanacially :scusthov:

I don't know if y'all have caught on, but America is trending more in an anti-male/p*ssy power direction. It's the same reason why the NFL is softening itself under the disguise of "player safety."

Take from the man and give it to the woman.

Pay attention.

yeah women are starting to have a lot more economic power than men, they already watch a lot more tv than men. thats why the wnba has been kept alive for so long in theory theyre waiting to ride a surge of interest it just hasnt come together yet. it might happen too they got a couple superstars coming in griner, skylar, breanna stewart but if that wont do it nothing will. when they enter the league expect ESPN to start to enforce more coverage of it on everybody though

This is one of the most ridiculous posts I've seen on this site in a long time, and that's saying a lot.

My personal observation is, not enough women enjoy sports to drive it economically. It doesn't matter who enters the WNBA, or how "pink" they try to make the NFL. Sports are for MEN. These execs need to get used to it and stop trying to milk money from women who'd rather spend money on depreciable, material items.

The money that's used towards the WNBA wouldn't make a difference towards teams that BLEED money.

It's easier to contract an NBA team... or two...or six to reinvest what's left over to the rest than it is to dead the Chicago Sky.

This is VERY false. All you have to see to know this is bullshyt is to see who goes to sporting events. LOTS of women there.

Women support men's sports as much if not much more than women's sports. That's the irony.

I'd say Glen Taylor. EASILY

:dwillhuh:

An NBA owner has more lucrative TV deals, sponsorships, licensing & merchandise revenue & ticket revenue than a WNBA owner. The Lynx have probably never turned a profit in their history & that's with a TEAM salary cap under $1 million dollars & having a cheaper lease agreement than the T'Wolves. Lynx owners aren't making money...and nowhere near what an NBA owner is making

Glen Taylor owns both entities. Are you really gonna tell me that losing an average of $1.5- $2 mil is worse than losing 8 figures annually over a period of half a decade?

You said who do you think makes Glen Taylor more money: Lynx or T'Wolves. And I'd say its the T-Wolves. EASILY (I misread your original post. That's why I answered it that way originally. My bad breh)

T'Wolves are more expensive to maintain, but there are more revenue streams & opportunity to turn a profit by owning a NBA team than a WNBA franchise which has limited resources to bring in financial resources
