hes one of the best but i dont like his sound. production is top tier but sounds like its made for weird white and black people that ride trucks with big wheels, drink bud and clash with people that wear cowboy inspired clothing

From my understanding dude is paid off catering to other weird nikkas and cacs, I doubt he cares. I was watching some music doc or interview with him and his strange music imprint is supposed to be really successful.
Definitely not for me tho. If I can't get around the image I cant listen to the shyt, I just was able to publicly start saying Thug has bangers but only cuz he stopped with the hubby talk and dresses.![]()
you can fukk with Young Thugs image of a gay gangsta wearing dresses and talking about dikks all day but not a man who wears a bit of face paint on stage?tech is dope, and hes proven that you can run shyt even being on an indie platform. most rappers out now wish they could have the longevity that tech has
dude has a low key large ass fanbase and most rap heads dont even know him.
if they did, theyd fukk with him, but hes not tryna be on no major label wave and hes not out here acting foolish
dude touring, building strange music and stacking chips
The problem is that Tech N9ne is like MF Doom or Kool Keith in the sense that you either think he's the dopest rapper to ever pick up a mic or you think he's just downright unlistenable, and there's no real go between. I dig his music, but on the same token, he's really on that sort of Cypress Hill wave, where you start off as a straight hip-hopper, but you basically merge together with rock and roll sensibilities and once you do that, you basically alienate the East Coast fanbase and to a lessor extent the Southern base. So basically the dude has made much of his fortune off of a midwest/west coast fanbase and his business acumen (he really helped set the blue print for indie success in a modern world).

Let's put this to bed real quick. Tech Nine isn't more popular because of his fans. And I don't mean that from the "They're all juggalos" type perspective. A significant portion of his fans have always been the type to attack someone's taste in music the instant that you say you don't love all of his work. Trying to force feed an artist to someone that most can agree is an acquired taste is sure way to get you and that artist called corny.
For the record, I think dude is alright, but I can never listen to a full album from him, especially his current work. From what I've heard, he's fallen into the long running rapper trap of using the same types of deliveries/flows too often. There's a reason most people write him off as just a speed rapper.
him though because the guy is an independent BEAST, knows his lane, and doesn't have to make any records he doesn't want to.I'm a huge tech n9ne fan and have yet to give my two cents so here goes, does tech wear face paint, talk about the devil and do shows with ICP... yes, that's all most people who aren't a fan of his Guage him by, my brother got me into him when he played "I'm a playa" and "slacker" for me, at that time I didn't know dude wore face paint or talked about the devil, and based off the 2 songs I heard I was instantly a fan, fast forward 14 years and I've seen him in concert 3 times, arguably the best rapper I've ever seen live, I've bought every album and have checked for the other artists on his imprint, I give mad props for his business mind and salute Travis oguinn for helping tech get out of his shady labels and start strange music because it has given a lot of other artists a legitimate platform to express themselves artistically, I'm not gonna tell yall what songs to check out because if you like tech you already know and if you don't I'm not going to change your opinion.
The calm before the storm to celsius was the shyt.
