The black community isn't actually silent about this issue just like they're not silent black on violence... Or as I like to call it crime.

I don't believe in healthy food being "expensive". :mjlol:

The problem is most blacks are too lazy to cook their own food. It takes an ascetic person to devote their time and energy into living a healthy life style. I stop eating junk food at the age of 18. Before I was fat and breathing unconditionally, so I started to work out and cook my own food. Best feeling I ever had in a long run. Yeah mane most blacks are too lazy to workout and cook their own food.

Unfortunately theres such a high percentage of us living paycheck to paycheck. When that happens you tend to eat what you can afford. Healthy food cost more money. Every time I go into A Whole Foods I hardly see any black people there except the employees. I make decent money and I can barely afford Whole Foods so I kno the average black family cant.
So the only healthy food is in Whole Foods? :upsetfavre:

Man, woman, and child
That's part of the issue, people have and perpeuate that the idea that if it's not from Whole Foods or Organic it's not "healthy" :mindblown:
I don't even shop at Whole Foods like that but the phrase "you get what you pay for" is very very true. You ever notice how grass fed beef is way more expensive? That's becuz cows are supposed to eat grass and not the bullshyt most are given which unfortunately is what most of us can afford

You are right but it completely skips something called gradual improvement. Just because you can't afford expensive clothing doesn't mean that you don't wear clothes. Point being that there are discount markets that see fruits and vegetables and meat. There isn't any logic in saying that you shouldn't start there as opposed to only eating fast food because you can't shop at Whole Foods or purchase the highest quality product.

Koohbt, great postings. It's true that low income folks eat reckless but so do middle/high income. Miss me with the low income folks lack of money because low income folks can go buy the latest name brand b/s just to be in the club and post pic to IG to say they shat on sum1, miss me with that. The low income who on soc.services can use the same indy card to buy healthy foods in the low income markets. It's def a matter of education, we need all sorts of pamphlets, seminars, community based events the whole nine from grade K-12.
It should be a matter in many black cities across the nation, white too...they deal with these issues too. Don't buy too much into the statistics, lot of statistics are based in propaganda which has it's own narrative. Never expect positive stats from most media outlets, don't even look for them to provide it.

Brehs start with your own city first, network with fellow like minded it's not hard...all this fb/ig/twit u can start the movement or join one and get shyt done

Kudos to the community farming, it's already being done. This is BMore in a ghetto, it's being done in inner cities all across the country.

This is dope. I'm trying to get this jumping in my city. Working on my own now, then later this year I'm gonna try and spread it around. A lot of potential in the hood. It has many layers too. Land ownership, agriculture, etc. I'm really pushing for this.

Canned or frozen fruits and vegetables were not consistently more or less expensive than fresh produce

And this statement here is a lie
The original is true because of the word consistently.

Look, eating healthy isn't easy when there are some many easy to reach unhealthy options. The point is that we can all make steps towards more healthy eating. Take one star peach week and your body will thank you.

You guys are having a pissing contest where it's not needed. Pick one thing to change and go from there. Drink nothing but water for 2 weeks. Take the saved money to buy more fruit or veggies. Make another change in the 2nd half of the month. Use extra saved money or redirect previously saved dough for another change. So forth and so on.

You don't go from sitting on the couch to being an Olympic athlete overnight. Small changes and let them compound over time. It's more likely to stick that way too.
