Coming from experience, yes i do.
I'm talking about middle class suburban white girls who have never seen or interacted with a black person before.
I see the way they clutch their purses,walk faster and act friendly.

white women for teh most part are not scared of black men.

here in 'Merica, black people aren't judged by how they actually behave but rather by stereotypes that are constantly perpetuated in the media, so to answer your question of "who cares what other people think", Black people do.
a black college student walking home from school in New York is seen by the police as a thug no matter what he's doing, and the police will treat him as such if they decide to stop and frisk him.
police don't profile white people like that, they don't point at the white guy walking up the street and say "let's go harass this filthy porn addict"

I moved from the city for high school in the north suburbs of the Chi, and went to U of I, from age 14-22 I was around 85% white folk b, anybody from the Chi can attest to those areas being like 80% white middle class or higher. Yes, in high school, I deal with a lot of racism (late 90s), why lie.
