nikkas see names and start going nuts

lakers - 6x
thunder - 1x
mavs - 2x
spurs - 6x

yeah what a powerhouse of a conference, look how stacked they are, I mean any team out west has a shot at the finals :stopitslime:

Then comes the usual counter-debate that "if x team was in the east they would make the finals more" which deals in hypotheticlas and just grasping at straws.

Regular season records are cute to look at, but it's pretty much a wrap on who truly has a shot at a finals appearance.

Top tier teams are all pretty much equal but the West has much stiffer competition in its playoff brackets.

When people talked about stacked, they mean that the entire 1-8 seed is pretty damn solid and anyone of those teams is a bad game away from losing the series.

In the East, you had an injured Heat make the finals for TWO straight years and they were the heavy favorites most of the other years.

The elite of the East (Top 2 teams) are typically good enough to hang with the West. It's not always like that with the West. All those teams are typically pretty damn good and not bringing your

A game can get you knocked out. OKC getting a 4 game back door win against the Spurs, Grizzlies beating the Spurs, Portland and the Lilliard miracle shot over houston, OKC and Clippers coming down to the wire, etc.

The East held up pretty well last year IMO:

ATL/IND 7 games
TOR/BKN 7 games
Wiz embarassing the bulls

:yeshrug:

I think all around the playoffs were pretty good last year for both conferences.

because the average team in the west has a better 1 through 5 than the average team in the east..

western conference teams beat eastern conference teams by an almost absurd margin in head to head matchups...

36 wins in the east might get you an 8 seed...

46 wins in the west might not get you in the playoffs at all...

It's all about exposure to SUNLIGHT.

Teams out east get less sunlight and play more of a slowdown, physical style.

Teams out west get plenty of sun and play more of an uptempo, fast break, free-style of ball.

Compare the music from both coasts and you'll understand.

90's G-Funk in the sun music, or grey skies project building Wu-Tang shyt.

Y'all say stupid shyt:stopitslime:

The west compete against "other" west teams to upgrade their rosters and doing that benefits their rosters more so than competing against other teams in the East. playing in the West elevates everybody's games.

Pretty much, the Lakers picking Shaq and Kobs and the Spurs drafting Duncan started it all. The East was if not better than the West when Shaq was still in Orlando

They play indoors and majority of the games were played at night. Not saying that u are wrong "04' Pistons played like what their city is remembered of" but its more about who each team competing against
