Why is the new trend on here to think the NBA ref's are fixing games?

Yeah superstars always got the calls, especially Jordan but I never heard this grand conspiracy theory that the refs were fixing it for an entire team back then.

well the star player is gonna get the call, so the team get's the call.

It wouldn't look good for the star player to LOSE....even if he had 50 points every night.

Given my NBA watching, I am envisioning Wade limping to the FT like 10 times and Lebron going 15 times or so.

I won't believe the Pacers can win until it happens. They will have to play perfectly tomorrow night.

I anticipate Miami driving to the hoop aggressively tomorrow and march to the FT line. Indiana's only chance is to be efficient and score on offense. If they go into any kind of dry spell, it's a wrap.:ld:

OP clearly ain't see the 06 Finals with the heats, and now they got LeBron on they team? :what:

nikkaz keep bringing up Game 6 of the Lakers/Kings series but Game 5 had a lot of suspect calls against LA. You ever stop to think that it's so there can be a long, "entertaining", and profitable playoff match? Game 7 of that series was called much more impartially, AND the Kings had home court, but didn't even bother to show up.

This thread is the main reason some of you need to stay out of the coli.

Point shaving= fixed

I am going to keep it simple for all you kids on here that just started watching sports

Basketball is a particularly easy medium for shaving points because of the scoring tempo of the game and the ease by which one player can influence key events. By deliberately missing shots or committing well-timed turnovers or fouls, a corrupt player can covertly ensure that his team fails to cover the point spread, without causing them to lose the game (or to lose so badly that suspicions are aroused). Although the NCAA has adopted a zero tolerance policy with respect to gambling activity by its players, some critics believe it unwittingly encourages point shaving due to its strict rules regarding amateurism, combined with the large amount of money wagered on its games. The NCAA has produced posters warning of this, the most notable being an athlete sitting alone on a bench with his face buried in his hands (although this may also look like the athlete suffered a tremendous defeat) with the caption "DO NOT BET ON IT" with warnings as to what could happen if they are involved in such a plan (as well as an athlete being caught gambling himself).

now sub the ref as the player and the same situation applies.

Gambling bookies know this.

nikka we all know that point shaving has existed before but every damn game doesn't involve it. This series has been pretty evenly officiated, Heat have gotten no advantage from refs.

:wtb: So now we just talking about THIS series
well retitle your thread

'Why is the new trend on here to think the NBA ref's are fixing games"

Should be

"Why do people think the heat/pacers series is fixed?"

Refs been fixing and always will.

Lakers fans probably shouldn't even discuss that series, ya'll always come off sounding like Holocaust deniers.:russ: Kings did choke though.:aicmon:

NBA def didn't want this series going 7. At least not the employees, mad heads are upset because they can't make travel arrangements until tomorrow night.

Nah, we sound like Jews sympathetic to the Palestinian cause. I'm not denying Game 6, I'm just saying lets not also forget Game 5.

Yea actual on purpose game fixing isnt that common...but we call it fixing because its so easy to predict what refs are gonna do from game to game in a series like this which aint a good thing. Theres talk about them being too soft on Bron so they go extra hard on him like in game six. Now they were too hard on him and the heat so anyone with a fukkin brain can see its gonna be a foul in game 7 whenever a Pacer breathes on em. Basically the whole reffing system revolves around how they decide to treat superstars on that particular night and the game suffers as a result of it.

That's my thing, Lebron hasn't gotten any favorable treatment all series. And that's rare for the best player in the world. Yet you still have dudes making that an excuse in waiting if Miami wins tomorrow.

Its true that the reffings been pretty consistent this series I do give them props for that....just from so many years of watching the game its hard to not think that the heat are gonna have the calls on their side tommorow. Its just what experience tells us :yeshrug:. But we'll see

Fistful of jewels
I heard none of this until the Pacers and Heat series. And nikkas swear there is some kind of David Stern conspiracy plan, even though the Pacers have gotten a whole lot more calls than the Heat but nikkas still think the fix is in? Wassup with all these Alex Jones NBA fans on here? :wtf: Is it just a Heat hate thing or am I missing something? :dwillhuh:

Man everybody forgot about that game, but I doubt anything come close to Bibby "fouling" Kobe's forearm with his mouth. :pachaha:

Only other bad call that really stands out from that series was Samaki Walker hitting that half-court three after the halftime buzzer (Horry game).:manny:
