Cause hiphop is the only genre where winning a beef is winning in life. It comes from the battle culture in hiphop which was more like jokes but dukes started applying street shyt to it and the fans just followed with the disrespect.

I don't care if they "give a fukk". Nobody is telling younger cats, "you should be sucking RUN DMC's dikk!"....but if you don't know, keep your mouth shut. Not you, I mean whoever. If you don't understand the impact, or the legacy, and prefer some new shyt, stay in your lane. The problem arises when people that have no fukking clue about anything prior to 2002 start weighing in on shyt that dropped 20 years ago.

Fred.

I think people refusing to even acknowledge it's existence is just as bad if not worse. I remember seeing on Twitter some stupid rumor about Paul Mccartney dying and people were like "who the fukk is Paul and why is he trending". There's no difference from young buls refusing to acknowledge run DMC or something. Metal fans will always shyt on a band for not being hard enough or fast enough, that includes the legends.

None of that shyt is the same as what we're talking about. Beatles vs the Stones would be like Wu-Tang vs BONE....The Who vs the Doors would be like Nas vs Jay-Z....of course both has die hard fans, and of course there will be heated debates about which is better.

This is more like, The Rolling Stones vs Fallout Boy. At the very least, fans of Fallout Boy would KIM if asked "so, how do you feel about the Stones?".

And  at I don't check for other music. I been into rap since '84 and was listening to other genres most likely before you were born.

Fred.

It is the same. All the groups I mentioned are legends. When Nirvana came out fans were shytting on other older bands. When Guns N Roses came out people were shytting on 70s rock as being 'old' and now 'whats hot right now in LA' Younger kids didn't give a flying fukk about Elvis in the 80s because that wasn't there music. Just like my younger brother loves Radiohead and thinks that The Doors make boring music.

"Checking" for music and following other genres with the same fever as hip hop clearly isn't happening with you. That is why I hit you with examples. As for listening to other genres before I was born, Unless you are 45 years old, I don't think thats true. But hay, maybe you are. You probably shouldn't go around assuming that everyone is 18 years old around here there Freddy.

Not only are 'elitists' in every genre, there is always younger kids who do the :usure: face to older peoples music because its not there. This is not something exclusive to Hip Hop, its a lie. Just like Hip Hop is the only genre where artists make diss tracks towards each other.

Actually, there was Beatles fans shytting on The Rolling Stones for calling themselves the greatest rock n roll band. You have people saying that Kurt Cobain could barely play the guitar and he would never have held up to legendary front men who also played the guitar. Theres people who go back and forth with The Who and Doors. Punk fans are NOTORIOUS for shytting on one band in favor of another. Punks shyt on The Sex Pistols while big upping Crass or Dead Kennedys. Even in techno/house/EDM you have people shytTING on Deadmau5 and Tiesto while big upping some underground obscure DJ no one knows.

You guys just don't pay much attention to non-hip hop music and it seems like only hip hop fans do this but it isnt true. Theres elitists and people who argue in every genre.

:wtb: man you get dumber & dumber with every post.

I agreee partially but let's agree but let's agree that hiphop is the only genre that is so devided regionally, and being divided regionally also divides us culturally.....nikkas have respect for they OWN old heads...south nikkas respect 8ball MjG,UGK,ghetto boys,outkast....West coast nikkas respect Too Short,NWA,E40,Snoop...east coast nikkas respect KoolGrap,Rakim,Public Enemy....but it probaly depends more on burrough with them.

In the beggining older heads had to basically listen to the same thing...after a while other regions had they own greats to listen too, there wuz no need to look at other regions unless u just want to....had our own legends that represent us and we can relate to...a west coast nikka ain't have to listen to new york nikkas talk about they boroughs, and as it went further south nikkas ain't have to listeen to ny nikkas talk about they boroughs or cali nikkas talk about gangbanging.

This shyt ain't the same as any other genre so let's stop comparing it really, its completely uniqe....Al Green,RKelly,Usher are from 3 different places and 3 different time but its still RnB,becuz there's not the same cultural and regional rammifactions that can make a hiphop artist sound completely foreign to a nikka from a different place.

:wtb: man you get dumber & dumber with every post.

Oh, do you care to refute any of that Wacky D? Or are you just still so upset from me laughing at you for others pointing out that you mentioned a group as your favorite when all their music is recorded performances you watched on Youtube. Don't worry breh, I'll wait while you hit your favorite place to do research, Youtube, so you can take a crack at it.

And coming from you, the king of trying too hard to be an OG and resident king of dumb fukking threads, it means a lot.

White entertainers get dogged relentlessly. Britney Spears?

We do it to pass the time man...we dogged Whitney and Mike for like 15 years...second they died 75% of us was feeling like we lost a loved one and deifying them...meanwhile everybody else still showing shots at them. I think black people are kind of one big extended family anyway...there's rarely any malice...even the little young nikkas who see rappers as food don't have anything personally against the artist they just tryna come up.

Entertainers are just a pass time at the end of the day, so if they got some corny shyt about them expect that to be talked about just like whatever they drop, ain't nobody god.

But if what you do is quality nikkas respect it and that will live on past the bullshyt...bet all that Camel/ugly shyt would stop the day Jay passes (offline anyway, because we aren't real people :heh:)

this really has nothing to do with it.

because hip hop is one of the only genres (if not the only genre) of music where a good percentage of the music is about bragging on how great you are compared to other rappers and compared to the average guy. the legends themselves have spent a lot of time dissing people. what goes around comes around.

r&b is different. it hasnt been the default black music since rap took over decades ago, and rap has since become the default music period. theres way less attention put on r&b, as opposed to rap where people who arent even into it all like that, still feel the need to put their 2 cents in.

when people talk r&b goats, they usually end the sentence with "at least for my time".

theres only very few modern r&b artists that people feel comfortable touting as outright goat contenders.

you never hear anybody consider somebody like jagged edge or 112 to be a top 10 r&b group of all-time. but ive seen groups that are less than the equivalent of them in hip-hop be flat-out called the greatest.

NO RESPECT.

Truest shyt ever....

rock is notoriously bad

But i think the original poster is just saying how no matter what other genres beefs are, they dont erase them from being recognized and supported longer thru time
