I mean to be fair, he had doors opened. His pops was a legend, and people on his mom side were legends in the wrestling world too

His pops wrestled and n7
That dont mean shyt if you Black. Dude was a unseen phenomenon on the mic...he bled charisma...the definition of a super cheered villain..tried to kill Austin and the fans still recited his every word. Got more over than the Nwo and Goldberg at their hottest. His father can only dream of being that iconic. I always knew if he crossed over to movies and 20% of his fanbase stayed with him, he would be a force of nature in the United States and now look at him...everyone wants him to run for the President of the United States.

Honestly makes sense though. His stage name comes from his dad (pops is also a black Nova Scotian).

While him and his dad are close....he's closer to his mom's family than his dad's family since his dad left home at 16 or 17. Lots of famous black folk compared to Samoans...so I could see why he hypes that side more. In movies, he seems to always portray either a "black" character or "black/white" mixed character....which is interesting.
That nygga out here hurt saying he dont love Black this and Black that..as if he doesnt showcase Ballers and puts Denzel Washington's son to work:laugh: There at cats just miserable that this man is so successful....lol. Its wonderful.

It does matter though, he was the only AA 3rd gen star in the busniess. You know his pops was the 1st AA Tag champion in history of the busniess right with mr Atlas ? His mom's side trail blazers for Samoans ,High chief and all them. He comes from a trail blazing family. He was absolute monster on the mic and the ring,
I mean, he got the IC strap put on him and took the nation of domination from farooq as a midcarfer at the time. That was huge for the 90s. especially once they gave him control of his character, it was over That was the smartest thing Vince did, because the black panther persona didnt fit him but he made it work

I agree with most of what you said though.

The former is true but I really don't think the latter is the answer to this.

He's popular because he's "cool" and seen as cool by not just women, but white men across the board. Why? Because he's a 'racially ambiguous', non "classically attractive" beast who had (and has) a LOT of carryover fans from wrestling. He's not 'black' so he's not a REAL threat, but he's also not white so he doesn't make cac males feel inadequate or insecure.

When people say things about how The Rock pretty much "came out of nowhere" or sum it's like they've forgotten or ignored this huge piece of his personal history/career.

Never in my life have I heard a woman talk about how much she wants to fukk The Rock and there's certainly not enough of them to be 'the reason' behind his box office success. There are some dudes women RUN to the theater to see (Thor/Hemsworth, etc), but DRJ is NOT one of them. At best they'd be perfectly fine with catching him on Redbox or Netflix.

That aside, women wanting to fukk is simply not enough to singlehandedly drive someone's personal brand to DRJ's level of success. Like I said, it's primarily cac nerds and wrestling fans propping him up.

What women are you talking to, because he's basically a sex symbol to any woman over 30.

With that said, the Rock is the 40 year old equivalent of that kid in high school that's most likely to succeed, he was an elite athlete, he has charisma up the wazoo, he seems friendly with all types of people and being racially ambiguous doesn't hurt.
