Add Kobe and Shaq's votes in '02 and you don't win the MVP

Add Kobe and Shaq's votes in '03 and you still don't win the MVP.

Duncan getting the 5th got you feeling some kind of way :mjlol:

I didn't mean they LITERALLY took votes from each other. Rather they were both so dominant in 01 and 02, that the voters were looking to others when casting the votes. Do you seriously believe that Jason Kidd or KG were more valuable than Kobe or Shaq during the 3-peat when they were demolishing the league.

Kobe and Shaq are two of the 10 greatest players ever. They made voters look elsewhere since they were both almost equally dominant.

When you're not the #1 or #2 option on your team for multiple titles or your defense isn't what wins the game and you play within an system that levels everyone out can you really be considered the GOAT?

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
Lets act like Duncan was the best player on his team and dominated through all of his titles. This year's title wasn't because of Duncan. Then you gotta look at who the Spurs beat in the finals. Cleveland, New Jersey. :comeon:

Duncan is an all time great but lets not overrate him. Ol in the moment ass nikkas. :scusthov:

The Kareem disrespect is baffling. And to answer the OPs question a lot has to do with the stats. Tim's career average in points has slipped to right under 20

not really. he was lucky kobe and shaq were on the same team taking votes away from one another. that allowed him to sneak in and take 2 MVPs. in the early 00s both Kobe and Shaq were better. and they proved it by thumping the Spurs in the playoffs.
There's another reason why you're WOAT.

Shaq and Kobe put up better stats yet Timmy gets the MVP

.27 and 11 >>> 23 and 13.
30, 7, and 6 > 23 and 13.

But y'all NEVER piss on the Lakers for beating the 76'ers, Pacers, and Nets for that 3 peat and let's not act as if the Spurs didn't beat the Pistons who the season before gave the hurtin to the Lakers.

.27 and 11 >>> 23 and 13.
30, 7, and 6 > 23 and 13.

Record
Spurs - 60-22
Lakers - 50-32

You left out the 4 assists and 3blks per game by Duncan and anchoring one of the best defenses in the league too, how convenient :russ:
