Tyrese is a terrific singer. I don't think there are many who would argue that.

As it is though, the general public knows him more for his acting and has got a lot of popularity for it.

The general population probably has heard his songs, but probably don't know he sang them.

....
He's better at singing than acting (I love the songs posted) ... too bad the music industry is fukked now and... in conclusion: he chose the wiser pathway ... :manny: but he's never brought up because not only does he have a small catalogue but also because he pales in comparison next to even random 60's, 70's and 80's soul singers ...

:mjlol: He has a lot of classics.

Off the top:

- I like them girls
- how you gonna act like that
- lately
- sweet lady

Breh the masses don't remember and probably don't even know none of these songs you just mentioned.

Even r&b heads would have a hard time remembering tyrese because he don't have any songs that would help him stick out amongst a long list of great singers.

People go off of memory and Tyrese just don't have any songs that would help them instantly remember him enough to mention his name into the conversation.

....
I guess I was talking moreso "crossover" hits like Usher and Chris Brown has, but he's not that type of singer to make music like that. He has more "soul" than those 2 imo.

A song like

has zero crossover appeal and its one of his best. Too much soul to appeal to "others":mjpls:

I don't think Luther and Teddy ever really crossed over ... :upsetfavre:... ask an old head white person who they are for proof ... they however are seen as two of the best and that;s only two examples. You don't have to cross over to get listed as great ... :yeshrug:

That is because the masses are dumber these days and annoying mumble rappers and no talent having singers reign supreme.

Real music fans remember and we know they are classics.
