It's not a narrative. It is what is happening. I'm seeing a growing sentiment of "casuals" begin to realize that ethnicity has something to do with this. Yes people love New Day but only when they are fools, no one liked them from the beginning except for a few brehs here (of which I was one)

You can only give Finn that he's "paid his dues". I don't want to hear any shyt about Roman being a bad speaker when Finn is considerably worse and has utterly failed at making a single feud of his LONGEST NXT championship reign memorable. And for all the dues he paid he barely has any great matches either. All the fans in the world can cheer him and Dean Ambrose, it doesn't change them from being absolutely boring to watch.
He certainly didn't pay his dues in the WWE system. It's not like he's a once in a generation talent like AJ. He's a fairly bland and generic junior who got an immediate mega push in NXT at the expense of every other indie/international signing, was made face of the brand almost immediately, held the title for 10 months and defended it against all of 3 people, then got drafted before Brock/Roman/Cena/Orton, and on his first night beat the only male champion on the brand and the top star of the past year clean. He's been about as protected as anyone ever in the WWE system from day one. His push killed any and all hype around Itami, then made Joe look like a joke for months, damaged the US Championship, crushed legit teams with on the spot partners, and now took a spot from guys on Raw that desperately needed that bump up in the eyes of the crowd. I'm not sure the "paid his dues" argument really works with him.

This idea that Roman has the look Vince cums over is crazy. 80% of Roman's body is covered, he was the shortest member of Shield, and at one point Dean Ambrose had bigger arms than him. People acting like Roman is some 80s roided up mastodon or something. I've never understood it. The look he has is that of a super attractive ethnic, but not TOO ethnic dude who has a strong family linage with the company. Before Shield was even a thing, if you saw him on his couple eps of NXT he was on, you knew he was getting that push, because anyone with brains would push that dude to the moon. There can't be a dude who knows anything about wrestling that saw Roman Reigns on NXT and didn't think "future WWE champion".
Like...why the fukk WOULDN'T you push Roman as hard as you possibly can? Very competent dude who can pull in the female audience, pulls in the male audience when he's being a bad ass, plus has 40 years of family shyt with the company to fall back on and point out. He got pushed for a lot more than "he has muscles", most of which you can't see and have never been part of his character or look.
