and in answer to your thread question, DMX falling off. It became clear soon that X wasn't going to be the guy to lead Ruff Ryders to the promised land. LOX and Eve were 'next up' but neither were as charismatic or talented to take the torch from X. Also, Jada, Eve, and Styles were obviously fleeing. You could see them going their separate ways trying to establish solo careers so it wasn't really "Ruff Ryders fam" like it was in 2000. Then Jin flopping like a dying fish sealed the casket.

Ruff Ryders never made a legit superstar outside of X. That hurt their movement 03 onwards.
