Idk

Probably I-75/285 during rush hour or any event, that’s enough to keep me away, man i remember some days, i was like i just want to be home, i remember it was some event at Atlantic station, i remember being at the exit in this long as line for 15 or so minutes at a stand still.

I wouldn’t mind it if i hooped, or played football, but I’d have to have me a condo downtown and a crib out in east Cobb or Stockbridge to not be close to the city

I think it’s just organization standpoint, like op said, for the hawks most people are like nah I’m good, idk why more don’t come to Atlanta for the falcons, they have a good fan base

That's where all their side chicks live

This. I’ve shared blunts, broken bread and even turned up with a few pro brehs. They all say the same shyt. Brehs agents actually discourage them from it too. Can’t move wifey and the gits down, and she won’t let him live there alone either. nikkas know they won’t be able stay focused here. One of the things that made ATL a heavy weight in Black America is what also hurts it in sports.

If you're a pro player in a city you're probably going to stay near the practice facility. Locally if you're a Falcon that means you're gonna live in Gwinnett/Hall County or in Buford near the Mall of Georgia. If you're a Hawk you're in Brookhaven/Buckhead, if you're a Brave probably East Cobb or Sandy Springs, ATL
UTD players are in Marietta, Delk Rd. But if you lived here and didn't play here yea I'd live in Stockbridge or Fayetteville or Alpharetta. So I'm not sure traffic is a part of the equation for guys who live & play here.

Back to the OP for the Hawks I think it is organizational, but if you don't draft well & you have a new owner why would top players come here?

Nope. The Atlanta United laugh at this statement

Falcons have a tremendous ownership group, great facilities and during Blank's tenure field a competitive team (8 playoff appearances since 01, tied for 4th most in the NFL over that span). In Blank's tenure as owner, he was jokingly referred to as "Blank Check" meaning when you came here as a FA player to visit, you weren't leaving because Blank was gonna get you whatever you wanted. The Falcons by far have the most amount of local support via consecutive sellouts and PSL sales so you're wrong there on both accounts

Hawks are probably the only one who I could say has had questionable ownership groups from the Atlanta Spirit to Michael Gearon to now with Tony Ressler but they are making inroads to have a better game day experience, renovated Philips Arena, built a new training facility with Emory Healthcare in Brookhaven (right next to Buckhead so relatively close to Lenox Square, Phipps Plaza, etc) and just broke ground on a facility in College Park for our own G League team. Hawks have die hard support but in the NBA you have to draft stars and the Hawks haven't done that. If your business model is to just sign guys then you won't be successful. Once the Hawks draft a superstar level player then I think the narrative that Atlanta has lackluster support will change because right now there's not a lot to cheer for downtown with the local team

Lol you're the only person who would say something absurd like this. The last few years doesn't take away the other 40 years where the Falcons were complete and utter garbage and couldn't achieve back to back winning seasons until less than a decade ago. Remember what a shythole Fulton County Stadium was? Remember when the Thrashers left town in less than 15 years with only one playoff appearance and not a single playoff win? Remember when the Braves were mismanaged to the point that Bobby Cox could only win 1 title with them?

NBA players don’t care about markets like that. LeBron in Cleveland and KD in OKC already showed if you nice you get endorsements and gonna be box office anywhere. A lot of these guys actually take the profession seriously you know? When they sign with a team they look within the culture of the organization, relationships they have with certain individuals whether it’s with players, execs, coaches, they factor in team fit, X’s and O’s, quality of medical staff and facilities, team situation whether it’s a winning or rebuilding team.

It’s not about hoes, parties, and strip clubs for these guys. They can fly women in and fukk women in every city they play in, some of these guys are actually family men too.

la, new york, toronto, miami etc are known for their non-black women which black athletes LOVE. Atlanta isn't known for that.

LA been striking out with FA’s, NY been striking out with FA’s (Greg Monroe chose Milwaukee over us), Toronto never got a big FA (NBA guys don’t want to live in Canada and pay those taxes), Miami won big with LeBron but they been striking out with FA’s too. So what are you saying?

All those cities have plenty of black women. NY has more black women than anywhere in the nation from all pockets of the diaspora.

NBA players don’t choose FA locations based on women.
