lol.

iverson didnt even play bad ball like kobe is doing.

anybody who is acting like what im saying is foreign, is a dikkhead. str8 up. im not even gonna sugarcoat it. get mad.
What the fukk does this have to do with "the media" though? Like what were they suppose to do - boycott when he was due an extension/re-up on his contract, and plead that the Lakers organization shouldn't give him a contract?

Kobe is too powerful. He brought rings to the greatest nba franchise, media coud not run him out even if they wanted to

5 rings
Cleaner image
Tenured with the most popular basketball franchise in the world
The rape case aside, I don't see how his "cleaner image' even comes into this?

Like after he spent close to two decades and won five titles with the Lakers, they wouldn't let him go out on his own terms simply because he wasn't liked in "the media"?

It shouldn't and wouldn't because of his 5 rings and 20 years in LA...the Lakers wouldn't let him go if he had personal turmoil in his life as often as AI. BUT the media in general wouldn't see this season wouldn't treat this season like a ride into the sunset either.

:dwillhuh:

The media in general aren't treating Kobe's last years in the league as a ride into the sunset either. 99% of the talk surrounding his play is how he either needs to a) stop shooting so much b) stop shooting altogether c) take a limited role on the bench d) retire NOW. Nobody is talking about how his play this season is adding to his legacy as a player. His bad play isn't been swept under the carpet in an attempt to protect his "image" or anything of the sort. This is why this thread makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

If AI had as much success in his career as Kobe did - he'd have the opportunity to go out on his own terms as well.

Iverson had multiple chances to stay in the league on the strength that he was a hall of fame player.

He went to Memphis and literally asked to get cut

Then Philly gave him another chance when it was clear he was done and he just stopped coming.

Love AI but he did it to himself.

:comeon:

dudes is just repeating media rhetoric in here.

how was it clear that he was done? did you not know that he was injured and shouldnt have even been suiting up most of those sixers games? are you aware of the reason why he left? did you not see him balling in memphis just months before that?

show me examples of a healthy iverson stinking it up like kobe. hell, she me an example of an injured iverson stinking it up like kobe.

im not saying iverson was still in his prime or anything like that, and yes his clock was definitely ticking, but if you cant see the clear difference, then i dont know what to tell ya.
