Because Kobe played for the same team his whole career and played a huge role in winning them 5 championships. So the Lakers decided to show their appreciation.

Did you honestly expect Pistons, Nuggets etc. to have a huge level of tolerance towards an over the hill player who never done anything for them? :heh:

Explain Kareem then. He is just a successful but the media and cacs hated him for being woke.
With Kareem absolutely. He came off as a cold antisocial a$$hole and didn't play nice with the media so they portrayed him that way even as he gained success.

I can't believe people in here are actually arguing that rings are the reason Kobe and Iverson are treated differently. They were always on opposite ends of the media spectrum.

Iverson ran himself out the league in my opinion. :yeshrug:

Heard he was still hittin the bottle hard when he was playing overseas. :wow:

No NBA team wants to deal with that, which is why Cuban only offered him a chance in the D-League to prove himself.

Rings are a factor but Kobe being a c00n is a bigger factor. :yeshrug:

i
terrible post.

kobe had the machine behind him full-swing before he even reached crawford status.

i already know youre young, so lemme just tell you, theres reasons why most black kobe fans are 2000s kids at best. generally speaking.
What are you like 28, and you're speaking as if you're 40. Stop with the omniscient Solon act, everyone done wised up to your facade years ago. :heh:

"The machine" (cotdamn you're corny turning this into some hawk and run type shyt) wouldn't have been behind him if he flamed out during the late 90s/early 00s and the Lakers went without a Championship. He would've been traded (for another elite wing like TMac to partner Shaq) and all this machination that you seem to think is the cause for him still being in the league wouldn't exist, because he'd be out of a starting role before you even had the inkling to walk down this path.

:dwillhuh:

Let's take that to be true (which it isn't), that still has nothing do with why Kobe's still in the league - which is what this thread is about.

theres a difference between making fun of somebody as opposed to running them out of the league. a big dam difference.

you can crack all the kobe jokes you want, but those same people are giving him a farewell parade.
WHO THE fukk IS GIVING KOBE A FAREWELL PARADE? :mindblown:

Where the hell are you getting this from? Do you pay attention to anything that's going on in the league today or are you transfixed by how he was treated half a decade ago as an ode to keeping AI's memory alive by attacking the easiest opponent?
