I'm sorry how old are you??? Britney was THEE pop girl of her time. Taylor is this generations Britney not the other way around(but without the mental issues.

That said, Parkwood tried to push Chloe x Halle as alt pop duo, girl next door when they were teens but it was crickets for them.

I keep seeing this argument about a Black Taylor but the consumers have to support it. Nikkas ain't start paying attention to CxH for real until Chloe did that Bussit challenge. White ppl don't believe Black women and girls to be innocent and Black ppl think it's corny and strange.

CxH didn't make pop music

She’s a mediocre safe-music making artist who has benefitted from a massive media machine coupled with being the all-American archetype of what white women want to be and whom white men want (i.e., skinny and blond)

I don’t even understand what a “black” Taylor Swift means

Anyone can become Taylor Swift with that Taylor swift backing.

Don’t blame it it on the consumer, blame it on the labels. They’re the reason behind why there’s not a black version.
I actually don’t think is true anymore. The biggest selling artists now are people who became stars back when you could control how people consumed music. You can’t create this because you can’t make anyone pay attention. Which artist that debuted post 2012 outsells that late 20s early 30s crowd of superstar artists? Minus Bad Bunny who really has no comparison and corned an entire market. If you actually developed a fanbase back then you’re set forever. You can see the difference when people go on your. Those streams and shyt are great but NBA Youngboy isn’t going to have a bigger tour than someone like J. Cole.

Which also makes her work overseas because Asian countries love the blonde-haired blue-eyed girl and generic pop music. Her most defining trait is how bad she wants it to keep it up for so long, most people get bored of that box. But she’s been the least interesting pop superstar for like 15 years and that works perfect for middle America. And white people everywhere.

i always thought willow smith would have filled that lane eventually, summer fling was such a nice song.

then she lost her marbles:russ:

It's interesting because she tried the Erykah Badu soulful R&B lane but her voice wasn't strong or mature enough for it and she didn't sell well so she went with alternative rock and it worked better for her "sound."

And most of the wholesome guitar playing Black women posted in this thread are from the UK. Because the US only wants thots from the fans to the record execs.

Taylor Swift is a slut though.

Taylor Swift is worth a billion dollars. If she wants to date and not be tied down to someone who will probably drain her accounts, more power to her. It's crazy how women aren't allowed to date around. She's supposed to settle down with the first or second guy and sign half her money away just because some no-name guy on the internet thinks it makes her a hoe? :mjlol:

I’m talking swift level big. That era of Gaga, Swift, Beiber, One Direction, and rappers like Cole, Kendrick, Drizzy and early Nicki. Lizzo sold 39,000 copies first week.

The closest thing they got to recreating that was Rodrigo and Billie.
