what should they be saying about him? if you asked just about anyone with a logical basketball opinion he is one of the 6 best big men to ever play the game. just because there isnt a weekly "moses malone was better than wilt" troll thread on here doesnt mean people dont think hes an all time great. hes not a laker, his last name isnt jordan, and he didnt play in the last 20 years so why would he be constantly getting talked about on here?
show me a list of top 10 centers where he is not in the top 10. ditto for a list that doesnt have him top 20 of all time
He was a 1970s player and he hung around a little too long. Plus he played in the ABA.
the NBA and its media dont treat the ABA kindly historically, outside of Dr. J and even he is underrated. And then the 1970s was basically the dark ages of pro basketball.
You can make a case for him being as good as a SHaq, Hakeem, etc but those other factors weigh against him.
i could make a case that he was better than Wilt but no one wants to go there.

It's gotta be because of him only having one ring right? Cuz we universally regard Cap Shaq Dream Russell and Wilt as the top five centers to ever play. But Moses has a legit argument to be in the top five especially if he had more rings. His numbers in his prime are just as good as Shaq's and Dreams and he had just as much longevity as these other great centers. I think he should get a whole lot more props then he does.
no, you could not
lets be real here, thats absurd
Wilt was the ULTIMATE BALL STOPPER who cared more about his stats than anything in the world. he was never a team player and its the biggest reason why he is only left with two titles to his name compared to Russell's 11. he was a terrible freethrow shooter compared to Moses as well.
Aint no argument to be made for Moses being a top 5 center.
That top five list if filled with multi time champions who were also some of the most dominant players the league has EVER seen.
Part of it is because he held on so long. Most people remember him as the overweight ball stopper on the Hawks. Another problem he had is that he switched teams so much. Especially during his prime years. Off the top of my I remember that he played for the Rockets, Sixers, Bucks, Hawks.
:deandre:
I can get the ball stopper argument, but the Celtics had better teams than the Warriors and Sixers did.
