This is a cool little documentary from 03. Well, I wouldn't say documentary but its an interesting watch.

Things have changed so much since then tho. This was the time where people were still buying albums so its probably a lot different today but when it comes to rappers eating and how they get their money, it probably still applies.

If most rappers weren't making much out of their record sales back then, its probably a lot worse today.

I haven't watched the doc, but; let's be real: Hey, those days album sales were up, but, let's not act like rappers were makin' that much money off sales

The only difference now; the sales are low, so the labels aren't makin' much off 'em and they past that lost to the artists (lower budgets, 360 Deals, etc.)

Rappers are broke because; it's not a sustainable life style

If you don't ball; you're not attracting a lot of fans

If you ballin'; you're gonna go broke, because, rappers have a 3 yr (and that's a stretch) life span

Yeah, pretty much. But check it out later when u have some time. Dame Dash breaks it down how if u get an advancement of a million bucks and ur trying to live that image, that money will be spent quick and ull be broke again.

In that little documentary it also says that the ones that are really caking are the producers and people that set up their own labels on joint ventures with major labels.

Mostly everyone else is pretty much living check to check.
