I don't understand who's buying all these Jordan 1s. They release like 3 new colorways every month while starving US of shoes we ain't seen years.
The resell game was helping them out at one point and time and shoes were selling out that would have been sitting otherwise. Now the bulk of them are sitting and going for under retail even before release.

The way they refused to release the shyt they knew everybody wanted when they were up, or release it in a bullshyt way like the ashy ankle Chicago’s , and continued to do the artificial scarcity thing, on top of their already mid quality falling down the drain, only to continually increase prices, I got no sympathy for the devil. I’m glad they left an opening for the other brands to step it up. Never imagined Nike not being the top hoop shoe brand, but damn near everybody eating their lunch from the eye test.

I slowed to a crawl on copping sneakers the last few yrs because they’re a bytch to deal with in high quantity, especially moving, but as a retail or bust nikka, they used to save me so much money missing out on Saturday mornings. Now they save me even more not even checking for em :ohlawd:

I haven't worn Nike's since my single digits (20s in human years). The brand just screams outdated AF:

  • Air Forces are so 2000s with the 20X tees and baggy ass jean shorts
  • Jordans are wild expensive and became uglier than Percy Miller shell toes
  • Most youngins are rocking NBs and track shoes (affordable since we are living in hell)
Bottom line, its all in fashion and timing. Hell, folks trying to bring back Saconys despite them jawns being relics of the 80s to mid 90s. You never know what could happen between now and beyond,

That DTC model really fukked them and was the root of a lot of their problems as the lack of innovations wouldn't as been that big of a deal if they wouldn't have given up that shelf space to those competitors when they went to the DTC model.

They got greedy in not only going to the DTC model and fukking over wholesalers, BUT increasing prices as well as they wanted in on that resell money that people were eating off of during the pandemic.

Now the resell game is dead and a lot of those sneakers they oversaturated the market with are now having to be sold at a loss. They have no one to blame but themselves.

This was there downfall. They thought leaving retail everyone would follow them to digital. But nah, niqqaz like going to Foot Locker for new shyt and that's what they did. They bought NB and Asics that took their spot.
Forever a Nike head but yeah they behind now.

A lot of NB’s cost the same or more than retros, but the material and quality is actually legit. Plus more comfortable
