The resell game was helping them out at one point and time and shoes were selling out that would have been sitting otherwise. Now the bulk of them are sitting and going for under retail even before release.I don't understand who's buying all these Jordan 1s. They release like 3 new colorways every month while starving US of shoes we ain't seen years.
Don't care if you believe it or not
That DTC model really fukked them and was the root of a lot of their problems as the lack of innovations wouldn't as been that big of a deal if they wouldn't have given up that shelf space to those competitors when they went to the DTC model.
They got greedy in not only going to the DTC model and fukking over wholesalers, BUT increasing prices as well as they wanted in on that resell money that people were eating off of during the pandemic.
Now the resell game is dead and a lot of those sneakers they oversaturated the market with are now having to be sold at a loss. They have no one to blame but themselves.
I haven't worn Nike's since my single digits (20s in human years). The brand just screams outdated AF:
Bottom line, it’s all in fashion and timing. Hell, folks trying to bring back Saconys despite them jawns being relics of the 80s to mid 90s. You never know what could happen between now and beyond,
- Air Forces are so 2000s with the 20X tees and baggy ass jean shorts
- Jordans are wild expensive and became uglier than Percy Miller shell toes
- Most youngins are rocking NBs and track shoes (affordable since we are living in hell)
Outside of retros they shoes are ass
MF be tyna tell me KDs and Kyries are fresh
Outside of playing hoops nobody wants to be seen in them
It wasn't just J's back then, there were Barkleys, Pippens, Bop Jacksons, Rodmans, Deions etc all piff
Their marketing is ho hum as well
A lot of NB’s cost the same or more than retros, but the material and quality is actually legit. Plus more comfortable
And imma copThey about to drop these again soon
