I can tell 99% of the thread didn't watch the video.

The foremost reason Nike f*cked up is they tried to move to direct-to-consumer. IE, cut out brick and mortar stores.

I don't know how often you all go to the mall, etc. but for a while Footlocker, Champs, Footaction, etc. had little to no Nike products because Nike wanted to sell via their own site, app, etc.

This worked like magic during covid because nobody could shop in person, anyway. After covid when everyone wanted to get out of the f*cking house, Nike's plan fell off a cliff. People went to stores and seen New Balance, Asics, Adidas, etc. and bought those instead of Nike.

Other sh*t like too many retros and/or lack of innovation are issues but those are minor compared to Nike's gamble with direct-to-consumer. They been quietly rolling that back for the last year or so.

Also, they have the largest R & D and Marketing budget of any shoe company so I think their demise will be short lived.

It's 100 percent the price that's why ASICS and new balance are the two hottest shoes right now

:mjlol:

Both of those at retail are just as expensive as Nike.

What shoes are yall talking about when you say this? The 9060 is $155. The 1000 is $150.

The Asics equivalent of Vapormax (Quantum Kinetic) is $250, the same price as Vapormax.

Beginning of the end of the wave to me when they started RETAILING shoes at $240-360 price point. Foamposites in champs/footlocker going for $300+ was crazy. Im wearing vapormaxes right now to the gym. Think i paid 240 for these. But they dont feel much different than some $100 nike trainers.

Should never gone above $200 price tag on any nike shoe
