Insignificant posting from an insignificant poster
Everyone has already said everything…

no reason for me beat a dead mule.

But im loyal to swoosh to a fault, even tho i hate those fukkers, i just like having the coolest shoes in the room/building.

Went to my boys 43rst beeday (we all 40 somethings) last sat in Bellevue…

Guess which one was wearing the jean paul vaporwaffles… lol

Usually, when im traveling the world, i rarely encounter sneakerheads. Theyre definitely a dying breed (you’ll see one or three scattered thruout, but it aint like it was).

One thing about being a shoe guy, its def a convo starter for sure. Theres guys who look at your shoes and u can tell that at one point of their lives, they were into kicks too… that nostalgia nod you get, its like they secretly/subtly notioning…

“Thats whats up…”

Ill be 87 in a wheelchair rocking Nike Mags in my Depends.

For us :old: heads that were around in the 80's when they blew up ridiculously, we can see the differences. First of all they don't have a Michael Jordan. Much of their intended consumers today were not even alive when he played. The marketing campaign in the 80's and 90's was CRAZY. And it all fit in so nicely with the new "Air" line. Your biggest athlete is also the biggest on the planet and the fact that he had so many "aerial" highlights, it helped promote the whole "Air" line. They had dope azz commercials, even having music from hip hop to the Beatles. And during this time Adidas and Puma weren't doing sh!t, and brands like Hoka didn't exist.

Who is Nikes star today? LeBron is old. So is KD. You fukked up with Steph. Zions athletic ability would have been great for the brand but dude is always hurt. Ja is hurt a lot too and has had too much off the court shenanigans. Whose your big 2020's NBA star?

And these new prices? I remember when the only shoe that was $100 were Jordans. Thats a bargain today. Dunks were out back in the 80's. they were like $50.

Without watching the video.

Cut out the middleman. They neglected the stores they sold most of their inventory too.

Quality has gone way down. The price has gone up.

ike Cortez of 2002 are more durable than 2024. I might as well buy Onitsuka Tigers from Asics.

The styles have innovated. I guarantee the styles they sell the most are re-releases of old Air Max & Jordans

the price quality disparity is unacceptable

i got into running during covid... regular outdoor and trail runs several times a week

you eat through shoes with this lifestyle and Nike pretty much trending towards the bottom of the barrel.. they'll at least be more tolerable if they weren't so expensive

With the rise of fitness influencers and athleisure wear like Gymshark etc, I'm surprised Nike hasn't invaded that space.

:mjlol:

Both of those at retail are just as expensive as Nike.

What shoes are yall talking about when you say this? The 9060 is $155. The 1000 is $150.

The Asics equivalent of Vapormax (Quantum Kinetic) is $250, the same price as Vapormax.

Fred.
Thank you. People complaining about the prices either aren't paying for these other brands or not paying attention. Asics and especially NB are pricey as fukk but I will say the quality for both are top notch when compared to Nike. I mainly just rock my AM1s and Ultraboost nowadays. Still comfortable as hell.

:heh: if they can convince people to stop wearing jogging pants everywhere they go, they may be able to convince people to wear sneakers again. I was at a funeral a few weeks ago and almost every young person there was wearing joggers and a hoodie with some kinda workout shoe or slides. I felt old for the 1st time in my life. Like, I might wear that to make a quick run or something but these young cats dress like hobos everywhere they go.
I be seeing some of them come to church with this shyt on. Full tech fleece unit rockin some Crocs....I be wanting to slap the shyt out of the parents.

They had no chance. The UA presentation was apparently much better than Nike. Steph felt like he could do something at any uther brand (UA, Adidas etc). At Nike, you're just second fiddle to the Jordan Brand.
That’s not exactly how it went as Bron has no issues playing second fiddle to the Jordan Brand :patrice:

When you mispronounce someone’s name and repurpose a slide that was originally for someone else, of course you’re going to lose out on signing that player.

We know the story is true as Nico Harrison essentially confirmed it.

Outside of classic Js and 90s nikes.. nike fukking sucks. Their basketball shoes all look the same, whereas in the 90s they all had different looks. 90s nike basketball sneakers are for my favorite type of casual kicks.

Every basketball shoe nike makes today is hot garbage that all look the same.
