It's 100 percent the price that's why ASICS and new balance are the two hottest shoes right now
Looking at the Fukkery of the 5s today I told yall niqqas it was the price :yeshrug: Some people got their tax money and now this shoe got niqqas going crazy

Ehhhh Tik Tok is playing a part in the hype of these sneakers. Don’t overlook that.

They did the same for those Ugg Tasman’s as well.
Breh I guarantee if these came out in October like the cherry 12 did in 2023 they would've sold out slow just like the cherry 12s did and if the cherry 12s came out today they would've sold out instantly :yeshrug: The cool grey 9s and flu game 12s are getting hyped as well on TikTok and Facebook expect fukkery with those two release as well it's actually might be worse since people who had the child care tax credit will have their money by then :sadcam:

Cacs ruined Nike. Retro J’s and Nike’s crossed over and became too mainstream since around the bandemic. All of those resale stores run by cacs. All of these corny hypebeast influencers on social media are cacs. And they came out of nowhere in the late 2010’s. nikkas switched over to designer because no one wants cacs to dress better than them. nikkas switching to designer caused drip inflation. A $230 Jordan 11 is no longer murder worthy when nikkas getting robbed for $1000+ Balenci’s, Dior’s and Louis.

Black people kept Nike in business for decades. White people were not copping retro’s in the 2000’s. White people mostly stopped wearing J’s in the early 90’s after Vanilla Ice got exposed as Malibu’s Most Wanted and Kurt Cobain gave cacs a lane to wear dirty Chucks, dirty ripped jeans and dirty flannels.

But now, the mainstream treated retro J’s and Nike’s like a trend. It’s like if classic albums like Illmatic and Doggystyle went viral and started charting with white people and nonblacks everywhere out of the blue in 2021. By the time it was 2025, these same white folks would be saying Illmatic was some old 2021 shyt. Even though that shyt is classic for people that grew up on it. OG sneakerheads like myself see no problem with classic J’s sitting and being easy to cop. I needed to reup on my shyt like Black and Cement 3’s and will reup on shyt I need that I had multiple times and dogged out like Flu Games, Aqua 8’s, Air Max 95 neons and Cement 4’s next year. I don’t care if they trending or not. My childhood will never be played out.

But outsiders who tried to gatekeep the culture see a problem with Nike grails becoming easy cops because they can no longer profit as much off it. And Nike also made classic grails more accessible to kill reseller hypebeast culture. I see no problem with this either. There is no reason a sneaker made in a sweatshop should resell or retail for a thousand dollars. You can’t buy sauce. But swaggerless cacs and nonblacks thought they could price black people out of swag with resale culture but reps came through and crushed the buildings. Now it’s a slow return back to the essence.
I understand why you would say Cacs but it's really Asians:russ:

Nah man we were told that Jordan’s were done. Nike is over… this wouldn’t happen if Jordan’s are dead. People would be getting murked for onclouds or some shyt
Nah, Nike will always be straight because it's affordable and easily accessible with countless styles introduced and mashed up.

Jordans won't ever die due to the prestige behind the sneaker and the man himself, but they're not the “be all-end all” of sneakers anymore, especially with younger millennials and Gen Z, who both have more versatility when it comes to footwear styles.

Older Millennials and maybe Gen X are the biggest Jordan brand consumers, a lot of it to do with nostalgia. Jordan releases the same model over and over again, the reason why people get crazy over a new release is because of the colorway.

I don't know where you live but Gen Z around me were actively looking for the 5's today. Male and female.

I actually avoided going to a store with a line out the f*cking door because a 19 year old girl warned me. :mjlol:

You’re underestimating this new generation and how social media can hype anything up these days :mjlol:
Can you elaborate on that because I’m really trying to understand. Jordan’s have been the shyt since like do the right thing cane out. what do you mean “how social media hype anything up” There are threads on here saying Jordan’s and Nike are done. I swear people in there were saying Jordan’s are still being worn in the real world but we were told that NB, ASICS, and others are running things more than Jordan/Nike

The biggest Jordan head I work with is a 30 year old female. She got all kinds of Jays and be wearing them to work. I wouldn’t be shocked if she tried to get these new shoes.

I believe you but these people are younger than that even. It was people 19-21, they had people scouring every store in a 20 mile radius. :mjlol:

For the past two Christmas, Ugg Tasman's have literally been hard to find in stores and online because they were trending on Tik Tok. These new Jordan 5's are literally selling out now because they've been trending on Tik Tok. If you don't think that's the case, pay attention next week to the new Jordan Black Toe Jordan release that has no hype behind it whatsoever and already going for under retail on resale websites.

It's exactly why older songs are managing to chart these days because of this new generation.

Now I can 100% get with this. More people should say this. Saying the brand is dead is just not true though,

Been buying Nike stock. At least 2 shares a month since July 2024. They'll be back. They are damn near the most iconic brand in existence.

Smart

This cyclical...this same thing happened in rhe early 2000's.

Back then though. It was better newer indie brands. Now those new gen indie brands have no real permeation. To become or be perceived as this thing. To build up as rhis thing moving forward. Sohh what will happen is exactly the same cycle that happened and always happened back then. Jordan's will make a resurgence. Either by war of attrition. Or making another banned run like we see taking place now.

This shyt is a cycle. That most should learn because Jordan's are the best collectible ever made.
