The only thing about the video is that they really didn't explain why generations of black people were taught not to swim. It's one thing to say "don't go near the water, because you can't swim". But black families, generations of them, actively prevented their kids from learning how to swim. The video didn't go into depth on that point.

They put two different points together that aren't necessarily cause and effect.

Yep you had to take swim gym freshman year in order to graduate. The only way out of it was to be in band or ROTC
