Lol, I'm a woman. But, yeah I think close to uptown is probably ideal. As I was saying in another post, my sister lives in Plaza Midwood, which is close to uptown, and diverse, but not as expensive. She loves it up there. For me personally, I've always liked the suburbs. I like where I live, but where I live is also only about 25 minutes from uptown, so it's not bad.... Really where you live is going to depend on where you work. Because depending on where you work, the commute can be bad...

Thanks for the input sis. I wont be commuting. Just an office in my apartment and I am all set up

The only complaint I would probably have is the commute. I live in Concord/Kannapolis abc it takes me about the same time to get to work near Uptown.

Yeah... My hair stylist works in the Concord Kannpolis area, and it takes me at least 25 minutes to get to her from where I live, so I can only imagine, the additional time it would take to get to uptown. Also, is it just me or is Kannapolis a little sketchy in some parts? It seems so different from other parts of Charlotte. I went to a Harris teeter out there, and the people there looked country, amongst other things lol...

What do yall do for fun out here though? I keep hearing that there's a good professional scene and nightlife. But no one I know seems to know much about it. Most of what I do, is involved with church and stuff, and hanging out with my sisters, but I'm curious about what other black professionals are doing out here for fun? Like is this a bar city, a club city, lol? It's hard to get a vibe for it.

You do stand up or something? If that's so and Charlotte really has the worst comedy scene in the state, that should make it easier for you to attack that market and climb the ladder. (if you're good at it)

Are you kidding me. Watching hours and hours of terrible comedy in the back of the bar, just to big a big fish in a worthless market? No thanks, :hhh:

90% of standup comedy is terrible. Imagine having to watch the bottom of the bottom of it.

Yeah Kannapolis is super run down lol. I’m just lucky that I’m like right at the Concord/Kannapolis line and don’t have to deal with that bullshyt. My area is quiet and everybody keeps to themselves which I absolutely love. Concord and Kannapolis is like night and day.

ATL via Tre 4
shyt, I moved from NC to ATL and now I’m trying to get back home. I eventually will one day, and I’m taking my ass to Charlotte. I used to shyt on Charlotte heavy back in the day (their metro area high school football teams use to smash on us in Winston all the time :mjcry:), but

I love Charlotte, and try to escape their every chance I get. Was just out there this past weekend, and had a blast.

I produce music for a living so I mainly frequent music studios or make music in-home during the day. As far as "nightlife", Bar Louie near the boardwalk is my go-to spot since it's less than 5 minutes away from where I live. Either that or Strike City Bowling in Uptown. I prefer sitting at a bar and having a good convo with some folks than going to a club. :manny:

Ink & Ivy is usually the move for the professionals that I know. Places in the Epicenter like Rooftop and I think it’s called Bubble are cool too. My job is near Plaza Midwood so whenever I go out with co workers we hit up Whiskey Warehouse or Workman’s Friend. I hear that Club One is cool but I never been. The music Factory is cool and I like it cause it’s closer to me.

What you not enjoying about the A breh? Too much traffic? Too big? Atlanta's got literally everything you want as a black man...and the A&T Alumni Association in Atlanta is huge, have you reached out to them yet?

How did I forget about Rooftop. I try to hit the silent disco when they have it. Pretty dope experience :wow:
