It was a smooth transition. TBH, I hated Philly. I lived in Philly for five years and hated every second of it. City was dirty, unfriendly, jobs didn't pay enough for the COL, etc. etc. So for me, because I disliked the city so much, I was happy the moment I landed in Charlotte lol. But before Philly, I lived in Nashville, and before that Chicago, and before that Cincy. So I'm used to moving and making transitions.

Are there any comparisons between Nashville and Charlotte

I heard they was raw

The big football squad round here was the Garner High Trojans
Them cac schools in Raleigh do less with more come to Durham and check out a Southern or Hillside game. Hillside is basically a high school HBCU the atmosphere is crazy.

I think Nashville had more of an authentic culture to the city. I loved Nashville, still do. It was so friendly, and pretty. But there weren't as many blacks as there are here. And it was pretty boring tbh,(if your into going out a lot). Charlotte is friendly too, IMO, especially coming from Philly. One thing I will say that Charlotte has over Philly and Nashville, is that where I live, there are plenty of middle class blacks that are doing well for themselves. I didn't see that as much in Philly or in Nashville for that matter. I think there's more to do in Charlotte than Nashville too. I think at this point the COL is probably on par for both cities. I lived in Nashville between 2010 and 2012 so at that point it wasn't as expensive as it is now. I think Charlotte doesn't have an authentic culture yet--it's definitely a transplant city. I've met more people that have moved here, than those that are natives.

Ballantyne is expensive and white lol. I had considered that area too when I was looking into moving out to charlotte, it reminded of the area I used to live at when I was in highschool and middle school(an upper middle class white area). I was like nah. Can't do that again. I didn't want my son going to a super white school. But it is a nice area. And pretty too. Would it be recommended for a young person though? It wasn't close to uptown...

Came through to crush the buildings lol

I remember when Tiger Woods was killing it and the PGA came through our area.
We all had to go to the HOA and get tags to prove that we lived there (because Tiger was basically playing in our backyard)

Well my dad forgot :francis:

So on our way back from school we were stopped by security, they wouldn't let us go to our house.
My dad had to go to the city clerk to get a copy of the house deed before they would let us by.

Fukk golf, I just wanted to go home and play Donkey Kong:francis:

thats how i feel everytime i visit in the summer. Depressing, people hanging on corners. At least if i go to Raleigh, Atlanta, DMV, Charlotte, I see black professionals. When I go to Philly, you know what i see? THE OIL MAN. then if you live in the city, you gotta go to private or catholic school. Which I'm not against if they can get financial aid. If you go to the suburbs, it's all white. If i do move back, i prefer to be near Lower Merion school district. Good public schools or if i wanna go private or catholic i have that option

I don't date, so I can't answer that. But, I guess if I was basing it on how many times I've been approached, since I've been there then I would say honestly it's the same as it's been in all the other cities I've lived in. But from my experience, men here seem nicer. Like in Philly, Chicago, and even in Nashville the men were more crass when they approached me. Out here, I've had men stop me and say "your beautiful" a lot, and actually just be really polite about it, like I'm shy, so they knew when to back off, which I appreciate. I've had men ask to help me with my groceries and shyt, and just be so helpful. Can't explain but I feel like the men here are nicer. But as for dating for men, obviously can't answer that... There are a lot of beautiful women though(no homo lol). I mean the women here are very nice too, and super friendly. I think you'll do fine.
One thing that has been strange, is that a lot of white men approach me out here. I'm not into white guys, so it's always :scust:. I see a lot of WM with BW out here, so I'm guessing that it's more common. shyt I don't know lol. Depending on where you live, I think dating could be good out here. But maybe some of the men can chime in to say.
