It's hella boring and dry here. I'm originally from Baltimore, where you see people 24/7, everywhere. Here (and most of the South in general) you only really see people if you go into a store or the movies or something.

People are going to skip over this post but it's the one telling the most truth.

Charlotte is a city for families and people who want to live in a big city without actually being in one. 90% of the post in here will be about how quiet an area is or where to buy homes.

EpicCenter is a two story circlular baby mall. No one talks about the Charlotte museums or visual attractions or social events. Cause there aren't any. When the CIAA comes to town, Charlotteans stay home cause they don't want to go into uptown. A social event where many people from town don't want to go? Carowinds is for kids and the most adult attraction they have is that Whitewater Center.

Charlotte isn't a bad city. It's just meant for a certain type of person.

In my opinion charlotte is better long term.

Pros of charlotte
-More young professionals
-low cost of living
-less crime/murders
-less traffic
-women seem more genuine
-less hiv/aids
-better small town atomsphere
-only 2-3 hrs from atl for a day trip
-better place to settle down in

I was shocked at how bad the traffic was since I left. Uptown used to have a lot of free parking , but they've put meters up everywhere. Lightrail is good.

You shouldn't have to travel 2-3 hrs to find something great to do in a large city.

thats how i feel everytime i visit in the summer. Depressing, people hanging on corners. At least if i go to Raleigh, Atlanta, DMV, Charlotte, I see black professionals. When I go to Philly, you know what i see? THE OIL MAN. then if you live in the city, you gotta go to private or catholic school. Which I'm not against if they can get financial aid. If you go to the suburbs, it's all white. If i do move back, i prefer to be near Lower Merion school district. Good public schools or if i wanna go private or catholic i have that option

Yup. And I have a friend who was familiar with the lower merion school district and there was a lot of racism going on there. Philly was depressing as fukk, especially in the winter, just an ugly city lol. I'm so glad I go out. Never again!!!!! It's funny, because my son's barber is from there, and was saying the same thing. He moved here two years ago and hasn't been back to Philly.

Are there any comparisons between Nashville and Charlotte
I visited Nashville in back in February, to me it's like Charlotte but with a river and a soul.

Nashville has an identity; Charlotte's still in an identity crisis, trying to figure out what it wants to be

I heard good things about Nashville too. is that a city on the come up?

I think it is. But not so much for blacks... A lot white hippies are moving to Nashville. When I was living there, they were building the city up and catering to that group. I loved Nashville, but I don't know if I would say the city is necessarily a great place for blacks. There weren't that many black professionals from my experience, and it seemed like a city that was catered more to whites. I mean the country scene was big. But Nashville does have black colleges, which gave it a leg up. There wasn't much of a night life for blacks either. But again, I lived there from 2010-2012. And when I moved there, I was coming from the Chi. Where all I did was club. It was an adjustment. Turns out now that I'm older, I prefer a slower paced city. I'm 30 though, and have a child, so what I'm looking for is different from someone who's still in their twenties with no kids.

Them cac schools in Raleigh do less with more come to Durham and check out a Southern or Hillside game. Hillside is basically a high school HBCU the atmosphere is crazy.

I heard hillside was nice too but i aint know they was doing it like thattt

It’s just in a weird place because it’s an emerging city. I’ll agree that it’s a very generic place currently.
