There are some mostly far left liberals who believe billionaires shouldn't even exist that its an inherent failure of the state for an individual to acquire such amount of money while the average person scrapes buy for their daily living expenses, while i dont agree with that or go that far as some have made their money true hard work and pure ability , the free market system needs to be highly regulated and have serious government oversight with very high taxes on this billonaires. The should be taxed at an extremly high rate and used to fund societal needs, close all the loopholes the use to hide their funds in offshore accounts, start putting those in prison who openly flount the rules

Most smart people will tell you it’s the obscenely wealthy that are the main problem with this world.

There are great discussions about this all over the Engineering and STEM subreddits

I’ll probably check the video later, but them being that wealthy and doing nothing but sitting on it don’t do shyt for anyone.

If someone makes $100k/year it’d take 10,000 years to make $1 Billion (or 100 lifetimes) if they didn’t spend a single fraction of a cent.
Keep in mind some of these moguls made $50 billion dollars the last 5 years of inflation alone.
How much was your raise?

People defending this sound stupid because I pretty much know you’re not even near that class nor will ever reach it if you haven’t by now (unless you the Apple CEO hiding on here).
I’m not against people making they money but hoarding money in no shape or form should not be allowed, that’s how you end up in situations where Wall Street and foreign entities buys up most of the housing in the country

No, that's you.

Capitalism and Slavery (Amazon links never work for me for some reason)

And when you dare speak on it, this is what they do to you.

Capitalism and Slavery is the published version of the doctoral dissertation of Eric Williams, who was the first Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago in 1962. It advances a number of theses on the impact of economic factors on the decline of slavery, specifically the Atlantic slave trade and slavery in the British West Indies, from the second half of the 18th century...

Williams left the United Kingdom for the United States in 1939. After a period of unsuccessful job applications, he had been appointed assistant professor at Howard University, an historically black college, in Washington D.C.
