This is deeper than Capitalism, you have people hoping for the downfall of society so they can step in to play The Main Character.

They have the money and influence to do it too.

:mjlol: And that shyt won’t work.

I think a number of ya’ll truly vastly underestimate how durable the United States and other countries are

Most poster here got capitalistic dreams.

This is the problem with majority of people who talk about Capitalism

Billionaires =/= Capitalism. 9/10 if a Billionaire exists, it is because they took advantage of a Government law to give them a competitive advantage. So blame the Government for why they exist in the first place. Look up Corporatism. That is what people think Capitalism is

99% of Businesses are Small Businesses with fewer than 100 employees. So having Capitalistic dreams is never a bad thing

Exactly. They got money and power, and want to see the world break down so they can rebuild it the way they want it. That's basically how the Americas and other settler colonies were built in the first place, first the original cultures and societies were destroyed. Old to the New World.

The older I get, the simpler things become as far as human motivation.

Haven't listened to the video yet, but it's become very apparent to me in the last 15 years that some billionaires have become Roger Moore era James Bond villains, because even THEY don't believe the current world order is sustainable and they are using their influence to shift to something more amenable to their ideals.

And their ideals are generally formed in an esoteric vacuum that don't necessarily align with the larger population.

Corporatism is a side effect of Capitalism

There are some mostly far left liberals who believe billionaires shouldn't even exist that its an inherent failure of the state for an individual to acquire such amount of money while the average person scrapes buy for their daily living expenses, while i dont agree with that or go that far as some have made their money true hard work and pure ability , the free market system needs to be highly regulated and have serious government oversight with very high taxes on this billonaires. The should be taxed at an extremly high rate and used to fund societal needs, close all the loopholes the use to hide their funds in offshore accounts, start putting those in prison who openly flount the rules

Most smart people will tell you it’s the obscenely wealthy that are the main problem with this world.

There are great discussions about this all over the Engineering and STEM subreddits

I’ll probably check the video later, but them being that wealthy and doing nothing but sitting on it don’t do shyt for anyone.

If someone makes $100k/year it’d take 10,000 years to make $1 Billion (or 100 lifetimes) if they didn’t spend a single fraction of a cent.
Keep in mind some of these moguls made $50 billion dollars the last 5 years of inflation alone.
How much was your raise?

People defending this sound stupid because I pretty much know you’re not even near that class nor will ever reach it if you haven’t by now (unless you the Apple CEO hiding on here).
