Battery is an option...which the xbox does not even have. Laptops/Tablets also have screens which the xbox does not have.

PC is not to blame for anything as its an open platform that goes with what the consumers want. If steam pisses off people, there are other options to go to.

seeing as how sony just roped in a lot of folks with the PS+ thing alone, theyre already working with a good attach rate. not to mention, the great 1st party showing this gen, and the new service-oriented attitude they seem to have with Vita and PSN in general...theyve taken measures to ensure at leats some of us move into next gen with them. mind you, this is something the almighty Nintendo didnt even do...

Nah he does have a point, the extra layer to do things via "xbox live" is ridiculous. I can see Microsoft saying that they charge for online multiplayer as they have to see themselves as "gatekeepers" from the idiots on there, but Netflix and other services requiring a "gold account" is terrible. It doesn't make any sense at all...they are going with that cable subscription model which is archaic as fukk. It is successful now because Microsoft put themselves in a position to provide a superior online console experience first, but I don't see this going on forever. If Sony comes out strong next round and still allow for members to access all of the content THEY paid for free through their service Microsoft might have to re-evaluate how they handle xbox live. Apple would have been killed if they tried some shyt like this as well on any of their devices.
It's like Microsoft trying to implement that on a PC or their Tablet/Phones. Can you imagine loading up Internet explorer, going to netflix but being stopped because you don't have Windows 8 Ultimate premium "GOLD" or some shyt?

Memory is expensive to put into a gaming consoles. Its not like they're slapping in desktop ram.

PC devs ruined this generation. Should have had more younger devs geting in the game instead of these flabby n sick PC devs being the voice and driving force for consoles especially since its really only a couple that have made an impact this gen. But thats microsoft, appealing to pc geeks and changing the dynamic of gaming console development
I'm not talking about just sales, I'm talking about the quality of the games, Sony's IP's are bloated but if you're gonna let your fanboyism get in the middle of logic than fine, every single reliable financial publication points to Sony being in some trouble as a company and needs to make some big changes to stay relevant in the long term, if the PS4 bricks (which it could its a problem) also if the PS4 used a FAT32 format for its memory storage it could use a cheaper alternative for memory storage, but if the future is digital games as opposed to physical media, the hard drives need to be a comparable to PC, I said the exact same thing with Nintendo and with X-Box, it's inevitable.
Lol at me being an Xbot, i own every PS2, PS3, a PSP and I'm gonna buy a Vita at some point, they are great devices, but Sony is on the verge of dropping the ball and the PS4 could be it, and thats a shame because, the PS3 does a lot of things right.
Nintendo is lucky they have all that history behind them, they have consistently making mistakes since 1996. Their stubbornness is what major empires go through. Sony got too comfortable with the PS3 launch and felt that at whatever price they launch at they will be ok. Initially PSN was lackluster and thought they would be able to get by...you have to continue to improve and focus on service. I am glad that the bad launch of the PS3 woke them up, hopefully the Vita struggling wakes them up on that side because a 4GB memory card is not going to cut it.

I completely agree with this, I understand X-Box has the right to charge for their online service, but what they should do is give you some points to and increase the value you get because 50 bucks a year is ridiculous, I can't even play my DL games with out a gold account sometimes.

Everyone has answers to what sony needs to do but obviously they have people smarter then you making decisions on whats best for the console and economical for the company. The exclusives always gonna be hot and the hardware will be superior to trashbox this gen. You will buy and you will appreciate all the classics that are released. Everything else doesnt matter. I dont foresee a playstation 5 and im cool with that. Long as they go out with a bang this last gen.
