Based on? I disagree a team like Brooklyn would love to get rid of deron Williams if they could
Deron isn't expiring, Deron sucks and the Nets lose an ungodly amount of money because of the luxury tax they pay. Safe to say not every team is gonna be in that situation when everyone's about to get a $30 mil jump in cap.

What are you talking about I'm referring to dumping deron Williams for a expiring not the other way. Cap going up doesn't stop bad contracts from being created

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
I could understand a few mil, but forfeiting 10mil over the course of 1 season for something that is FAR from guaranteed is just stupid to me
and this mentality is why you never have and never will play professional sports

you got to be willing to sacrifice EVERYTHING for that win... daily, monthly, yearly, every season, all career long

i bet barkley would pay 10 million right now to have beaten jordan and gotten a ring one year

It probably doesn't help that the Nets own the two worst contracts in the league right now.

But back in the day, they would've gotten something back other than tax relief.

scale it to your level though... and even with his, he's still more likely to succeed

but think of the one thing you want more than anything in life... that you can't just go buy.. that you probably dreamed and hoped for since the age of 6

now think if you have 100 dollars... or even 100k

someone says for 10% of that (10 or 10k) you can try to have this thing.... you'll be bumped up to the top 5 chances in the world of getting it... and if you don't get it, you're free to keep the other 90% of your money and also make more money on top of that later in life...

but for 1 year, you'll pay 10% of your salary to have a top 5 shot for this one thing....

now it's not so easy to say fukk it..

now think in his case... what can you do with 90 mil that you can't do with 80?? him missing 10 mil out of 90 is a lot easier to live and invest and make it back, than any of us missing out on 10% of our salary

I'm not against either. But him picking something he doesn't have over something he already has plenty of should be understandable.

Again, y'all nikkaz are fukking dumb.

That's why I said in my previous post that I personally wouldn't take the cut, but I'm not David West. Him taking a cut like this is high risk high reward but obviously he'll take the odds.

And there are plenty of people who have bought into this stupid ideal that if a player doesn't take a paycut then he doesn't care about winning, which is fukking stupid.

Understood they didn't make him do it, but I'm sure his agent could've presented a case for him to be paid more than the vet minimum. If the owner wants to win that bad, make him dig deeper into those pockets. Not saying they should pay him Corey Joseph money, but I'm against cutting those guys breaks.

His agent was talking to the Wizards who were offering the full Mid-Level Exception.

West chose otherwise. He ain't working for his agent...

Think about how differently Barkley's career would be looked at if they had won that Finals in 93. That's something you can't buy.

and this thread full of BUMS who don't have a penny to their name and achieved NOTHING shytting on a nikka who's made 90 mill in the NBA and wants to win rings

David West is one dumb mothafukka to skip out on 10 milly for a useless ring.

Rings only matter if you're a super-star or if you have more than 3.

The 10 milly he lost would be far more beneficial than a plastic ring you get for being the NBA's chosen rigged team.

Wrong fukk boy. The goal in life is to get p*ssy and money. David West just lost his ability to get 50% of his goal completed this year.

What a dumb fukk.

And you aint makin shyt either, holmes. Otherwise you wouldn't be posting on the Coli.

Coli dot com brehs.

I gross 66k, and I know how important a few thousand dollars are. David West's ratio is "how important a few milly is," and he fukked it up.
