My brother's keeper
Even with his career earnings around 85 mil, this paycheck would have accounted for around 13% of his total career earnings

We need to stop acting like he left 2 mil on the table, 11 mil breh

This is pretty unprecedented I believe? Dont know why people are wondering why its perplexing to some
Closest I can remember is when Kirilenko left losing in Minnie to lose in Brooklyn

So guy who has made almost 90 million dollars already in his life...

Is more likely to turn down 10 million dollars than a guy who hasn't made 10 million dollars in his life...

:yeah ok:

When I was young and selling drugs on the street there was pretty much nothing I wouldn't do to make a 100k...

Now that I do make a 100k a year the list of things that I won't do for money is pretty fukking long...

Horrible analogies

I bet you have another list of things you wouldn't do unless you were fairly compensated as well..........

I do...

But before i got any money...I only had one list...

You know the type of person who is going to take the money 100% of the time? The type of person who is living paycheck to paycheck and has no other option...they HAVE to take the money or things can go south for them...

You know the type of person who might explore other options than taking the money? The type of person who already has made a ton of it...because the money to them is just that...money...it's not a car note...or a mortgage payment...or college tuition...or something to put on a maxed out credit card...or medical bill...it's...just...money...

If you had to guess which one of these groups David West is likely to belong to...which one would you chose...which group of people you think most nba players belong to...?

Furthermore...isn't this a one year deal? So if the Spurs don't win a chip...doesn't David West jump back in to free agency at a time where basketball players are making more money than ever...? Doesn't he have the chance to win a chip AND get paid say a Paul Pierce type of deal next year?

:mjlol: At people saying giving up 10 million was simple because he wanted the championship. I'm sure his money is straight but giving up that much is ridiculous. So when he doesn't win the championship he's gonna look back at that money he left on the table. But that's what happens when you consistently get beat by the heat every year

Uh...no...he is just going to jump into free agency next year make some of that money back...

Corey Joseph...a 3rd string point guard...just got 7.5 million a year...

Something tells me David West will be fine going forward...

Yeah. its a one year deal.... and I would've got that 12.5 million and manifested a back injury forcing me to sit half the season and then probably look for a contender the following season........ its just a lick to appealing to pass up, even if I'm caked up.......

The only other thing I can see if this is going to be his last year in the NBA and if that's the case, I get it...... but I think he has 2 solid years left in him
