I see some on best buy...refurbished.... Don't trust it tho.... 30 day warranty and best buy don't directly sell them

While you want a mac, if you have to ask yourself about the cost, it is not for you.

Brand. Apple has shown us that people are willing shell out money for products due to brand name instead of any tangible advantages. The actual pieces inside of the laptop are no better quality than you can get with another laptop and/or replacing your own selected parts.
If you dudes think its production cost that leads to the high prices, you're fooling yourself. A good portion is for that lit up apple icon on the hood.

Windows computers with the same specs cost around the same price.
I had one for a few years went back to windows but learned that you can't buy one of those 200-400 dollar windows laptops you need a more expensive one and it still doesn't run as good as an mbp....but if you aren't into music or designing and just need a computer for Internet, office, and downloading music there are some nice cheaper computers.
The hardware/case is what makes it worthwhile though...it's hard to find a comparable windows in fact I haven't.
