What were we lacking that called for this?

I'm looking at all the games released...and there is not a big jump in graphics at all.

The loading times are nice...but that's just due to the sdd, tech that has existed for a long time now.

I mean, what are people that are staying last gen missing out on?

This is probably the weakest, most lackluster launch I've ever witnessed.

Seriously what do we get? A new system that costs 400 - 500 dollars? The nerve of PS5 now charging seventy dollars for games that look like they are running on A PS4?

Nobody said you need anything. You get them because you want them. Nothing more, nothing less.

Well that's just the thing. I'm completely fine with my Xbox one and PS4 but with a release of the next iteration, games will soon no longer be developed for either one. It affects me breh. And others that don't see the point in upgrading.

my pc smokes both these new systems yet I like them because of convenience. and at the price point both aint bad when you crunch the numbers. it might sound crazy but as a pc gamer I don't always wanna fukk with shyt to get a game to run. with the ps5 I have the next Horizon to look forward too(love the first one to death), plus ratchet, and im crossing my fingers to a conclusion for Sly Copper. with the xbox I can get enhancements to older games without the headaches plus have access to newer titles I know will run fine day one without compatibility issues(halo, avowed, fable, scorn, etc). I've gotten at least a 1000 hours out of my Switch so no regrets with that either. I quit console gaming in 2010 but came back in 2017 with no regrets. its okay to like both. im an adult so I don't live vicariously through the toys I buy.

You're answering your own question then. You want to continue to game? Then you want a new system. Want to play on Xbox? Buy an Xbox. Want to play on Playstation? Buy a Playstation. If you don't see the point in upgrading then guess what? Don't upgrade. This ain't that hard to figure out.

I got mines cause I skipped out on last gen. I kinda got bored with games during the last years of the 360. Mgs v was so disappointing and there wasn't anything else that matched that hype i had for it. Was more into other things, but I got back into it two years ago. The switch and 360 were doing me good, but there were a lot of new games I really wanted to play. My old roommate used to let me play his ps4, and that made me want to get one. At least, that was my plan until I saw the new consoles were coming. Figured I might as well just get the ps5. :yeshrug:

No regrets:wow:

And the best it yet to come:smugbiden:

May very well end up being my favorite console :ehh:

Though there are some cons, don't get me wrong. Sony is on some bullshyt for this measly ass storage.

We really couldn't get 1tb? :gucci:

120 hz, locked 60 fps, fast ssd, 8k graphics, better data processing, better cloud processing... etc etc etc

NEED? You don't even NEED video games so this is all subjective

You don't, currently they are just better way's to play current gen (well last gen now) games.

The loading time alone are enough for me to invest, shaving a min or so off ever load screen is a big deal to me also quick resume (same deal)

The improved graphics on older games are nice also.

PS stan will tell you how you missing out on "miles and demon souls" xbox stans will tell you how you missing out on optimized older X1X games and quick resume.

But for your average person it's really not worth it.
