Are there any musicians out there that can explain the "my ear piece malfunctioned" excuse I always hear singers give?
Ok, so you can't hear yourself. Wouldn't that just mean, at worst, your pitch would be off on some notes? But wouldn't you have some muscle memory for your own song that you perform all the time?
What he just did sounded absolutely crazy and as a non musician I never understood the excuse.

Wendell B is the modern day Barry White:

A huge problem is perspective

I've explained this to death in Griselda threads but y'all need to adjust your expectations and demands. Stop using mainstream as a barometer for everything. Y'all are stuck in this one size fits all mindset when the internet has all but killed that shyt

There's something for EVERYBODY these days. It's mostly a matter of your surroundings or how bad your willing to look for what you want

All that shyt about the church dying and whatever is true definitely, but there are singers out there. Maybe she does small shows in your town, maybe she's a big artist, maybe she's obscure and from the UK. The only thing between you and that artist is a little digging. Find that artist and support them

A lot of complaints I see in threads like these usually come down to "I don't like the music I'm being fed" because y'all don't want to make your own spaghetti

Again there's something for everyone now. Find what you're looking for. Or go back to the old shyt. It's still there :manny:

Great example of what I just posted

He won't be on top 40 radio but I bet he got a fanbase and is eating right now

Too much focus on the looks (ie the long ass wigs and Big Show WWE leotards) and vibe music. Stop singing that whisper shyt through your nose and wow me with some vocals please

At one point there was some balance. There were folks who were powerhouse vocalists and there were those with softer voices but with a soulful bent or those who danced. Now many of these artists don't have any of that OR stage presence.

I knew the tide had completely changed when (no shade) ppl accepted that Rihanna was a titan in music and compared her to ppl with actual talent. A girl with absolutely the least vocal ability, lazy and lackadaisical on stage but beautiful and with earworm songs. It's over when the new girls with vocal talent are diminishing that because it won't play to the audience.
Nikkas go too hard on Rhianna for no tangible reason. She's not an r&b artist and that crowd was never her bread and butter

Nikkas acting like everything leading up to Rhianna was Whitney Houston :mjlol: like Madonna or Janet Jackson non singing asses was hitting church notes

Rhianna is an aesthetic package. She looks cool, sexy, has a unique voice, and songs that people fukk with:manny:nobody became Rhianna fans at gunpoint

Further emphasis on a UNIQUE voice. Prince, Jimi Hendrix, and Bob Dylan couldn't sing either. Some of y'all sound like the nikkas that complain about generic bars bootcut jeans NY artists not being played on the radio

Telling the truth is not "going hard", it is what it is. And not you mentioning ppl who could make up for their lack of vocals with musicianship, songwriting and great stage performances, none of which Rihanna really has either. She has an ear for hits, I'll give her that.

Studio wizadry is too strong and getting into a studio or a makeshift one is easier than ever. In the past, regardless of genre, you had to have live performance skills which you then transferred to the studio. For you to even have the guts to approach a studio, people had to tell you you were good first. Nowadays, that training process isn't available for modern singers/rappers/deejays, and they lack not only stage presence, but overall showmanship.

I'm often perplexed when I see a singer who can't sing live, and I wonder, "Who around you gave you the confidence to ever step into a studio?" And the real answer is that they had no guiding hand. And once they have manufactured a hit song, they can just rely on that, but if you look at the live performance, there's nothing. Imagine a "Rumble in the Jungle" in this century, which performers can come and work a crowd à la James Brown, Celia Cruz etc.:mjlol:
Very few. These youths can't even release live albums.

Man I was listening to my Apple Music and a group named little Dragon came on and I could’ve sworn them was some black folks. I look them up and

:scusthov:I was so wrong lol. That’s why it’s funny when we get mad at people like this when they blow up off of black music. Anyway, Kandace Springs is one of the nicest out but people don’t care. I’ll just say that
So if they had you thinking they were black off sound alone, did you stop listening because they weren't?
