90s sampled the 70s
2020s sample the 90s
2040s will sample the 2020s, etc etc.

The GOAT: "No Idea's Original"
Guru: "Rap is an art you can't own no loops"
Q-Tip: "way that Bobby Brown is just ampin' like Michael"

I hated the Puffy jiggy era cuz all he was doing was looping # 1 hit records.
It was a hit back then so of course it's going to be a hit again.
But making hits out of dusty obscure samples? and not just 4 bar loops but chopping and filtering and shyt?
Scenario, Passin Me By, CREAM, Shook Ones...there's a reason they stand the test of time and never get played out

:mjlol:

this reminds me of when that dude rapped on that white girl song that was in every TV show/movie

*edit*

just remembered the hook and found it lmaoooooo

How is that even a song? :dahell:

It sounds like what someone would come up with if the song came on and they just started randomly making noises along the beat with no plan or talent. He doesn't even sound like a rapper, this is like the shyt the class clown would do before the actual freestyler jumped on. WTF has happened to rap?

Neg worthy post.

I mean even if you like that off brand NY drill bullshyt, in a vaccum he's nowhere near unique, mush mouth and rapping about the most repugnant shyt with no real skill or wit.

ALL the shyt in this thread is like that. How do we even know these people's names when they're this bad?

couple ironies

1. I literally just listened to Mary, My Everything about 15 minutes ago cause I'm bumpin my 90s rnb playlist....couldnt get through 30 seconds of this shyt

2. This is exactly how the generation before us felt about us....my uncles used to hit that :stopitslime: at their jams being flipped..and now im an uncle doing the same...circle of life shyt
Interesting. My stepdad hates rap, but he liked a lot of the samples being flipped. He liked the AZ El Debarge stuff, the Teena Maries samples...of course Mary's catalog etc. He hated Firm Biz at first, then ended up loving it.

Oh that song in the OP is trash. Mainly because they ruin what makes the OG track good. The ish is clashing lol
